@junkmailonlyhere: Sure must be nice for your multiple 1TB drives to still be accessible in case of fire or theft. Oh, wait.

If I didn't think my inexperience and ineptitude in all things electrical engineering would prevent me from completing this project successfully, I would definitely want to build this.

I really want to be able to use K-9 Mail, but my office's Exchange setup must be really nonstandard, because I have tried for hours in vain to get K-9 to connect to the mail server.

That does it. I want an official XBMC port for Android. :P

Vote: Google Reader App

@EstimatedProphet: I haven't used it myself, but I had read about this on Lifehacker:

@Maave: I can only hope it would be included in a custom ROM then, the same way that CyanogenMod incorporated OpenVPN.

@TheFu: That would be an issue of setting up the secure transport though. While you could prevent that transport from being set up (blocking protocols, ports, etc) and you could monitor the user's machine directly (keyloggers, screenshots, etc)... once established, is the SSH pipe or VPN solution not reasonably safe

@shkm: correnos001 covered it, but a VPN solution with strong encryption should protect the transport layer effectively. A compromised machine is your greatest threat at that point.

@cha0tic: I'm thinking that would not be effective against a VPN unless said VPN was using SSL authentication in the first place. And I think it wouldn't be particularly effective against an SSH pipe.

@TheFu: Well, unless you pipe that traffic over your own personal VPN or through an SSH tunnel, with public key authentication for either. I think.

What kind of encryption options are available for Android?

Is on-the-fly transcoding in the works? That'd be the last feature I need to truly have a satisfactory Air Video clone on my Android.

There is no upper limit. I must always have more.

The auto-logout and block-all-but-first-request features are things that I've been desperate to have for awhile, now. This looks just perfect.

For everyone saying that this decision in People v. Diaz is reasonable and legally sound, I refer you to State v. Smith (2009), decided by the Ohio Supreme Court.
