I just wanted to comment on this post (the one with the Louis CK embed). Being a cis, straight, white male, I struggle with the automatic defensive feeling that social justice discussions are somehow a subtle accusations that I am obviously a "bad person" based solely on the various congenital factors I was born with,

Did I oversimplify an issue with regards to male privilege?

The fallacy derives from the idea that because The Patriarchy™ is male-dominated, all males benefit equally. This is a falsehood and should be acknowledged when lambasting male gamers for their inherent Male Privilege™.

Men will also not be told that they're being "too sensitive" or that "they need to toughen up" when they complain about said sexual threats.

Quick solution:

Thanks for providing some anecdotal experience with Japan's unemployment system. I guess most of the commentariat assume it works exactly like the US/Canadian/British/whatever system in place where they live.

This is always important to keep in mind. Japanese media generally wants to find any excuse to paint criminals (especially violent ones) as abnormal or aberrations. Because "a Japanese person would never do such a thing, there must have been something wrong with him!"

I believe the Ghostery addon will also block Facebook Connect, as long as you enable blocking for that specific (or all available) trackers in the wizard.

They did. Nine years before America's War Plan Red, actually.

Well, since you hate a country "that much more" because an invasion plan was "thought of at all", get ready for a little self-loathing!

Any equivalent for Android?

Hello Buglers!

I got a reply from the security group at SpiderOak saying that the issue was caused by JavaScript not being enabled (which I think I can blame either on AdBlockPlus or Ghostery). But it seems to be fixed now?

Huh. It's behaving now with Ghostery and ABP on. I'm guessing (hoping?) they fixed it in the interim?

I just got an email back about it from their security team (I sent off a report to them right away), and they said it was due to JavaScript not being enabled and that they were fixing it. My JavaScript is up, but I was able to get normal behavior by disabling AdBlockPlus and Ghostery.
