Oh, please no.

Color me impressed. Currently I use Everest 2.20 for similar needs, but I just tried WinAudit. Seems to grab boatloads more data than Everest. I'll be playing with this for awhile...

@SashiCabango: Prolly more a mixture of 1984 and Brave New World.

@abarger: I fail to see the connection...

@artfuldodga: If you read the story, you will notice the following paragraph:

I still use the regular command prompt in XP and haven't quite gotten used to working with PowerShell, but I'll give it another whirl since that seems it'll be the base shell app in Win7.

@Red_Flag: Gah! SparksPeople, not Speakspeople. Bah! Need... coffee...

Personally, I prefer SpeaksPeople:

Upgraded to WPA2 over the weekend. Had to download some new drivers for my desktop and laptop wireless cards, and an XP hotfix.

Marking this for trying out tonight. My digital photo collections got backup up then moved, copied all over the place. It'd be nice to clean that up.

I loved my Win 3.1 so much back in the day. I staunchly refused to upgrade to Win95 because "they took away my DOS!"

@RJinLA: If I understand correctly, nothing is saved to disk. (What about the cache?). If nothing is saved, then there is nothing to be recovered through disk forensics.

@VilhelmQuail: Hmmm... maybe I won't try this out after all...

@Red_Flag: Also, congrats Mozilla!

Does this include forks like IceWeasel?

@Asian Angel: AA, are you going to be doing any work on making new or improved Lifehacker "Better" extensions?
