No, not in my opinion. It was one of the first VW cars to go to the all-haptic buttons and I hated that. Also things like the dash and top of the door trim was a clearly cheaper material.

They are quite pretty.

I seriously cross shopped the Arteon when I got my A4. The Arteon loaded leased out a little higher than my mid tier trim A4, so it was a pretty simple decision for me. Had the R motor been an option at the time it might have made a difference. It’s a BEAUTIFUL car in person.

and i’ll add that while the msrp is high this may be one of the few vehicles out there where you can get a discount.

now we just need the shooting brake here in the states. I would honestly be one of the 10 people to actually buy one. for real.

Yeah, i never said it cant be done, but even you realize it could be more comfortable. So its a choice, is the fun worth the trade off in comfort. Its sort of like the guys that ride motorcycles year round, rain/snow everything. Yes you can do it, but that doesnt mean its for everyone.

This post is 5 hours old and there isn’t a Miata?

Anyone care for a Pajero J-Top?

That’s what I love.  It’s illogical, but I just love engines and making them go vroom vroom, even if it’s not the “best” engine/vehicle combination.  It’s just fun.

I won’t lie - mine stays up, sometimes partially, on those days. I’ll be going somewhere and down on way there/up way back to minimize burn time. Or if I’m going on a short run and don’t feel like doing the top action.

Make it pretty, doesn’t have to be fast, but has to be engaging and happy. And most of all, make it romantic.

Oh come on.  Mercedes is undoubtedly going to go with some hybrid camper/convertible thing of which only 17 were made in 1977.

I... I don’t like convertibles.

No. I have, many of them. And I want to buy one. Less talking about them keeps their price down. At $10K they were steal. At $20K they are, meh, at $30K, there are a lot of options to think about.

Any convertible with the top actually DOWN. Most convertibles I see have the tops up on perfect, sunny, 78ºF, low humidity days. If I made the rules and you are caught driving a convertible with a top up on any decent day your car would be taken and you would be forced to drive a hardtop Camaro with no sunroof.

Looks to me like he wants one, but can’t save up as fast as the prices are rising.

If its summer time, then the answer is one with ventilated and cooled seats.  I had an S2000 for 4 years and summer was the most miserable time to drive it. Way too hot in NC for topless action.

Can we all stop talking about the fucking S2000? It needs to not turn into some unicorn that costs $50K. They were $10K just a few years ago. FUCK OFF.

I have come to the inescapable conclusion that there is a perfect summer car.

They seem to have pulled the best parts from previous generations here.  The back of the car is perfect.
