The graphic novel Diary of a Teenage Girl, and to a lesser extent, the film that was released this summer (which is decidedly cheerier), also explore these problems in the same time frame. The author of the graphic novel, Pheobe Gloeckner, was a professor of mine in college, and her work really explores these themes,

Both candidates are sounding tired and a bit hoarse. I feel like Friday sould be a mandatory spa day for both. Preferably at the same spa, where they can drink herbal tea, give their vocal chords a rest, and agree that they have more to agree about than disagree on. All media will be forbidden, and they should both

I was especially annoyed this week by that recording of her at a rally saying “will breaking up the big banks end sexism and racism! No! (Cheers from audience).”

I’m still kinda curious about those speeches she already gave to (what have become) her Wall Street donors.

Granted, I am really not a Clinton fan, but I’ve been especially disappointed that she’s been going around saying that single-payer medicine will “Never! Ever!” Pass in the US. If she had said “it’s not feasible now, but it’s a goal we can work towards” or something along those lines, I would at least be open to her.

Idk Bill Clinton is a vegan now and maybe that’s why he’s lacking some energy in this cycle.

Great list! I’ll have to check some of these out soon.

This is insane, because every time a woman takes the pill (or uses another form of BC) for the reason of preventing pregnancy, there is a man, somewhere, who is benefitting!

“...and repeatedly call themselves “southern” even though everyone knows Texas is part of the southwest.”

It’s exciting especially because Obama was able to get at least some of the Democratic establishment behind him, but Sanders really has not. It’s hilarious to watch them scramble.

Bob Ewell’s misdeeds are probably due to girl problems!

He’s the first non-Christian to win the NH primary! Pretty huge (or yuuuge!).

Exactly. I suspect she surrounds herself with yes-men (and yes-women) who tell her what she wants to hear, and has very little sense of what the public thinks of her. She has the instincts of a (excellent!) lawyer (is this ***technically*** legal?) but she doesn’t seem to have the best instincts politically. Which

I like how she claimed she “hadn’t committed” to running.

Definite let down, I can’t argue with that. Though it does seem a bit different than comparing actual children to animals, still not a dissapointing line to use.

It’s a mark on both their revords, for sure. Sanders isn’t perfect, but as far as I know he has no history of racist dog-whistling, though.

Hillary lobbied hard for that bills passage, up to and including referring to minority children as “super-predators.”. She did not exactly sit there quietly as it was passed.

But don’t you know every shady thing Clinton ever did didn’t actually happen, no matter how well-documented??? You’re just believing what the right wing is telling you!!!!

I hear ya, I don’t think I can face the Internet before coffee!

The BernieBro stuff has questionable origins too, though. And the Clinton camp was the first one to run with “the other guy’s supporters are the wooorst” narrative.
