No kidding! It's not for everyone, being a homemaker.
I'm truly sorry for your loss, and glad she left you such wonderful memories! Whenever it happens, I so, so hope my kids will feel like you. Thank you for posting about your lovely mom! She sounds like my hero :)
Actually, I really loved hearing this. I work 50hrs a week and have kids and while I think we spend a Lot of time together, sometimes I worry it's not enough because they're in school or day care til 3-430 most days. we have pretty regular "QT" in early morning, late afternoon, dinner, bedtime, etc (and also a lot of…
that's awesome!
yes exactly!
I got that too (because lots of times I'm stressed and trying to Do Stuff when I'm with my kids) but then I paused to be generous in my reading & I figured the point they were making was that a busy parent/mom worrying that she/he HasToSpendATonOfTime with the kids (so dragging them around bc it's better to be with…
Here's to hoping they mix it up- Mirrin or Dench would be so fantastic, man. Or Betty White! Isabella Rossalini? Angelica Huston?
.... And YES you should make a lot more than you do. :)
2 wrongs don't make a right! Trust me, all servers- most servers!- do NOT make more than you. Try 10k a year. That is what I make. What a LOT of us make.
Yeah, that's the weird thing! We love to tip & servers love getting them.... But it falls apart when it's a slow shift or ppl like that no-tipper decide to eat out.
Oh, I thought they were tied to the fed rates! That stinks!!
I think it'll raise server wages too- just not as much. Like 2.13 server for 7.25 min would be at Least 4.26 for 14.5 min, but probably more because of the way they figure it. It's still a terrible system but I think raising minimum would help servers & is wayyyy overdue regardless.
I used to be friends with her, as well. :-/
AND..... Raising mw will raise all salaries: the ones that were a little over minimum will go up too! So, she'd get hers & doesn't even haveta be selfish. Ugh.
"I can't do math" was a cop-out .... I doubt she'll change her ways once someone shows her how easy it is. Argh, why don't those people just COOK AT HOME ?!
Was I the only one who wondered exactly how much she tipped that time she spilled her cocktail & the server comped her another?
So, I was at a house party and this really cute fella and I had been making eyes, but I'd wandered off to get a drink. Then I saw him on the porch, so I hopped over a little wall to chat him up—- and fell flat on my face into the cobblestones. Blood everywhere. I almost lost my front tooth.
And maybe the woman that raised her didn't do the kidnapping, but thought she was adopting? Who the fuck knows... I'm just happy for them that they found each other, and really hope the girl grew up loved, even if it was through such a horrible beginning. It really is a parent's absolute worst nightmare.
I hope that you're wrong, though... People are crazy complicated! I just hope for the best for that poor kid.
