I've had rats that would follow me around or come when "called." Most are fairly content to sit on your shoulder or in your lap.

Rats will generally return to their cage to poop if they can, although they will leave urine trails just about anywhere. My rats have never pooped on me.

Shame I missed it. I'm a Dune purist, yet also a fan of interpretations. I appreciated the Lynch adaptation.

Did you attend the Bar 333 meetup? I had no idea how to even get there, but it seemed like most of the people were unaware of the meetup or how to get there themselves.

Charlie, were you at the screening? I was there and was fairly disappointed that there was almost no interaction among the audience following the screening. Most people didn't even seem to be aware of the meetup at Bar 333.

Of course it's sexist. It was written from the perspective of a white, heterosexual man back in the '50s/'60s. It was still far more progressive than any other series of the time and even most now.

I'm not saying that the writing was bad or not great, just that they could only do so much with the material. It's a terrible setting.

Of course they weren't, but they were writing within the confines of Lucas' Star Wars universe. That limited what they could do with the material.

How are Frank's female characters "unbelievably horrible"? They outnumber the male characters in nearly every novel and in most cases are more important to the narrative than the males.

The original Dune novel is much better than the entirety of the original Star Wars trilogy. I have no idea why people have such a hard-on for such a shitty film series by a hack director.

Dune is no longer beating Star Wars, but it should be as it is a vastly superior work.

I chew gum with my mouth closed?

Most people are incapable of enjoying media from eras before their birth since they lack the proper context to see them as they were intended. It would be impossible for Steve to avoid modern media, which would surely taint his impression of older media despite how influential it was at the time.

I could see this

Magneto has always been on the edge—it depends on the current writer.

I won tickets as well. I plan on going, although my entire inbox was deleted through my phone yesterday.

I believe there was talk of an animated Incal film. I've seen test footage and a trailer for it. More recently there has been talk of reviving the project.

Did you win tickets or will you just be attending the meet-up?

I actually don't enjoy Singer's take on the X-Men either. Patrick Stewart was perfect casting, sure, but Ian McKellan as Magneto is just too frail. Magneto in the comics is youthful, fit and charismatic.

The Overlords from Childhood's End are rather cool in both concept and intent, although I really wanted to choose the Overmind, but there's no imagery for it.

They were already paid. They're not hurt by the film not making money.
