I happen to like the idea of God having humanlike qualities that, from our perspective, appear petty and violent. It's really cool to think that God would just erase thousands of years of creation and starting over. Why *wouldn't* you want to worship someone like that?

The story is still Arabic in origin, so the Chinese characters and culture are depicted from an Arabic perspective. It's no more accurate than how Westerners viewed the "Orient."

I don't believe in nerd culture holding math to some higher standard or acting like it's this really cool thing. I have no problem with it being used for societal infrastructure. I just wish people would ignore it rather than fetishize it.

I never said that math didn't have beneficial purposes for society. I just don't appreciate the fetishization nerd culture has given it, nor the idea that math is so important to everyday life when I have functioned just fine without it.

Considering most people do not graduate I would say that it's quite an accomplishment.

I don't use math in my life and likely never will. It has not functional purpose. Humanity didn't use it for thousands of years and many cultures still don't.

I just don't see why I should be required to study math if I want to be an English teacher. It's discrimination.
