The problem is still guns. If the guy is unstable and doesn’t have access to guns, he can still hurt people, but he can hurt far more people with extreme prejudice with access to guns, hence the need for some sort of gun control.

Because mentally ill people live all over the world and these types of mass shootings, generally speaking, do not happen in other industrialized countries. This was a mass shooting, it most certainly is an issue about guns.
