The blurb up top makes it clear what happened. “The AV Club” is a collection of individuals. Some of them thought the film was pretty good, but enough of them really hated it that it made the list. And now the comment section is going to be dominated by 20-something white guys crying about it.

Spending the months leading up to Joker’s release anticipating how bad it will be and then putting it on the worst of the year list for not living down to your expectations is pretty much Peak 2019 AV Club.

I love Lizzo as much as the next millenial but that outfit was just a big t-shirt with the ass cut out. Maybe I’m not “fashion forward” but it felt dumb for the sake of being dumb and I can’t wrap my head around why walking around in a thong with your exposed ass is in any way comfortable.

I find funny that, in one the very, very few AV Club news articles that isn't dripping with condescending snark, that instead it's all over the comments. 

Maybe he was just being a shitty human being as research for a book he's writing.

But also: stop expecting actors to be role models. They’re not. I enjoy some of Scarjo’s performances (incidentally, her best work is in Allen’s movies). I have no use for her views on MeToo, politics, etc.
