I can’t bring myself to care much whether Prince Kennedy delivers the speech or some rising star that would engage the activist left (i’m not sure there’s any one person who can do that well) because the speech is a bad idea. It might be for the best to let a bland, forgettable speaker take this one and…

I think identity matters more than the Democratic Party thinks it does and less than this website does. Kennedy is a fine, if bland, choice. I can’t really work up too much smarm or annoyance here. He’s delivering a speech that probably shouldn’t happen at all.
