I saw the controller support over the beta weekend and was actually kind of befuddled- anyone using a controller is going to be seriously noncompetitive. It’s like aiming with a trackball.
After all of the Nostalrius discussion going on lately, I wonder if you would have a better time playing the new, revamped content or the older vanilla version.
I haven’t encountered any issues, other than the occasional split-second framerate thud. Hasn’t ever happened in battle- only seems to occur when picking up items.
Ha, good observation! I do get it though- it isn’t necessarily that they need 300FPS, they just want to reduce visual clutter and make it easier to see enemies. I’m sure that they’ve figured out that having better vision 100% of the time is more useful than catching an enemy’s shadow every now and then.
I absolutely love how shadows were implemented in CS:GO. There’s something incredibly satisfying about trying to sniff down an enemy and seeing his shadow slowly lurch by.
I doubt that the PS4 and XBO could even run Skyrim at 1080/60 with reasonable settings. A 670 absolutely could.
That next-gen hardware was dated on its release. The GPUs are about equal to mid-range video cards released in 2012.
I’m just glad there’s a PC version. Being forced to play Bloodborne at a shaky and jittery 30fps basically ruined the experience for me.
I know some folks who have jumped in on the real estate game- I think you’re slightly underestimating the effort involved. The houses are cheap on paper, but getting them repaired and up-to-code is a full time job and requires quite a bit of starting capital.
Has all major sports, affordable with lots of jobs, no traffic, lots to do, average weather, big enough area to get all major tours/shows, generally left-leaning, easy escape to Canada. Middle of the pack is exactly where it belongs. Better here than anywhere in the south or rest of the midwest, Chicago excluded.
In fairness to Nintendo, Miitomo is set up such that you and your network of friends are fairly insulated. As a social application, it would be dead in the water if it prevented you and your friends from socializing in a “normal” way.
Brighton and its surrounding areas can barely be called metro Detroit. Not that “metro Detroit” has anything to do with this- once you get this far out you’re getting into mostly upper-middle-class communities.
It’s really not that hard to get tickets if you really want them- Blizzard has their queueing system for BlizzCon perfected at this point.
That Spore shit has to be the worst implementation of DRM ever. My roommate still has his copy with box and everything but it’s now a paperweight because of the 5 install limit.
I used to think it was Activision who was responsible for killing this genre of game, but now I’m wondering if it would have been a matter of time with Harmonix as well.
No love for Mike Dawson? Looks like they missed, pal.
You’re not quite correct. There are lots of menus and data points to browse while you’re docked and fitting your ship, but once you leave the port the game is exactly like any other MMO. The gameplay isn’t text-based and success isn’t predetermined by some supercomputer- piloting your ship and dogfighting is actually…
I owned a 360 until it died too many times and I switched to PS3. Gears of War and Halo 3 were cool but I really don’t care about console shooters anymore. The only Xbox One exclusive that looks interesting at this point is maybe Sunset Overdrive? I wish they would stop endlessly teasing Battletoads and other Rare IPs.

This seems like a pretty decent deal, but is there even anything worth playing on the Xbox One yet? I’ve grown to be pretty unimpressed with Sony’s UI choices on the PS4 so I’m interested, but it seems like Microsoft is still struggling to put together a library.
