Yes, because all I do all day is sit on Kotaku and monitor how much people think unreleased games should cost. I mocked this guy because he’s being an asshole, and if you can point out any other assholes I’ll be sure to get around to mocking them as well.

Good choice for him- he tends to get WAY too worked up over pointless issues on Twitter. I hope for the best.

I typically don’t any more because those brand names mean nothing but disappointment and a failure to reach expectations. If anything, I’m more likely to have higher expectations for an independent game because it’s more likely to be a pet project as opposed to a yearly release coming off of an assembly line.

When I purchase an EA, Activision, or Ubisoft game, I’m expecting to get an unfinished, poorly-optimized, potentially bug-ridden game that will be assaulted with microtransactions in the near future. See: Battlefront, Assassin’s Creed, Blizzard games, etc. They might not tick each and every box, but my expectations

So what you’re saying is that there are folks who are complaining about the bugs and development routes for those games, only to have the developers defended by fans of the game who insist that the teams are doing their best.

I have made no comment regarding whether $40 for The Witness is underpriced, overpriced or appropriate. However, I do reserve the right to poke fun at somebody for deciding how much a game is worth without having played it.

I don’t understand what you’re saying exactly- lots of folks complain about bugs and exploits in DayZ and Rust. And lots of folks complain about bugs and exploits in big blockbuster titles too- Destiny comes to mind.

How do I know it’s not what?

What kind of criticism is that exactly?

Who says that user expectation is different? Independently developed games are criticized just as much as the games from the powerhouses. Perhaps you’re conflating independent with early access?

Why is an independent publisher supposed to charge less for their games? Is independent music cheaper to purchase? Are independent films cheaper to see?

How do you know “what it is” without already having played it? According to Totilo’s review there’s at least 25 hours of gameplay here.

As someone who bought MKX on the PC, it was every bit the technical disaster that Arkham Knight was. I have a 970 and still couldn’t play more than one round before the framerate started slowing to a crawl due to memory leaks. I seriously have no idea how you can possibly fuck up a fighting game that badly.

I’ve stopped bothering with WatchESPN altogether- it’s a better viewing experience to just go with Zunok or whatever the hot streaming site is at the moment.

NIPPER’s vehicular combat maps were amazing- chopper_attack and the demo derby maps were tons of fun. the_get_away2 is probably his best concept for a vehicle map.

Counter-Strike plus drivable cars, customizable bases, and lots and lots of sand? This is no ordinary custom map.

Bloodborne isn’t even impressive graphically. Dark Souls 2 on release on PC blows Bloodborne out of the water.

*Every* enemy can be spared. Don’t kill anyone.

I know this is a joke and all, but Amalur wasn’t Kickstarted and was actually a pretty good game. #commenttruther

Signifies 15 headshots in the current round, map, etc.
