Say you are a 16 year old, you have some part time job cash saved up, and want to fiddle with mods and tunes instead of driving the family hand me down. This is cheap and should be fun enough to drive and mess with for this low price, and modern enough to be relatively safe and pack modern features. Fvck it, NP.

They used vacuum to lock them, but you could turn the knob to manually lock as well.

I have never seen a vehicle look bad in medium to dark green. BRG is the Correct Color for any vehicle, but forest is right up there.

Dark green = best color.

in high school, my buddy found a short bed, short cab Z71 with a 350 and a stick from one of those dealers that took anything on trade. good times.

That IS a nice tow rig, and an even more fun race car. (B-Spec forever!) All of the dark forest greens need to make a comeback on exteriors.

Doesn’t that motor have enough torque to pull like 11 of those Kias? Which is just enough torque - it’s glorious.

By far and away, my favorite part of working at a dealership, was when minty older normal cars rolled in.

With barely broken in miles on the 7.3 and a body clean enough to do surgery on, this was a great deal at $16,000. Congrats to Carl on getting a truck that will last as long as he could possibly need it.

You think it’s overpriced now, imagine paying 1/2 of your annual salary at 14% interest for this thing in 1984.

Both the Reliant and Aries received blacked out trim after the redesign. I think the chrome in the back was a carryover from the previous generation.

The only one I would even want is the ‘84 Chrysler Laser I used to have, that and the Charger of the time are the only K-cars that have any appeal whatsoever in my opinion. With the Turbo they were even fun to drive. If I had money to burn I would restore one for the pure nostalgia.

I’m sure you’re right but I don’t care. I voted NP anyway because I have an irrational love for the humble K and this one is just ::chef’s kiss::

I agree that it probably more than it is strictly “worth”, but the difference between $3500 and $4800 is way less than say $25K and $30K. When it comes to cars under $5K, people should buy what they want and not get hung up on “value”...because you have so little to lose.  Long like the K car!

Someone with nostalgia about this car would say something like “oh yeah, I had one of those back in high school. It was the biggest piece of shit and you couldn’t get me into one ever again.” Not the right kind of nostalgia.

Now show me a clean 81 Aries coupe with a 2.2L, 5-speed manual, and low miles then we can start talking $4500 for a K-car.

I actually run a K-car page on FB. I’ve had way more K-cars than anyone should have had in a single lifetime. This car is $2500 at best. Maybe $3500 could be wrested from some poor soul, but this is a $2500 Reliant.

I think your wife is in the minority. The Mach-E was supposed to replace the Focus Electric, but Ford would have had a hard time moving the Focus EV, even if it was essentially the same as the Mustang Mach-E but with different badging.

I know the choice of naming it the Mustang Mach-E was to bring some of that Mustang cache to an electric vehicle, but I do wonder it’s backfiring at all amongst potential buyers. My wife just bought a Tesla Y Performance after considering all the available electrics, and while researching the market, I asked if she

I’m really excited about more competition in the market, and I hope this is the beginning of real EV growth that isn’t centered around Tesla. It’s nice that Teslas were a hit in San Francisco and Shenzhen, but it will be transformative when they are common in places like Omaha and Milwaukee.
