Ok that’s probably the saddest shit I will read all day.

You might be able to LS swap a Miata for $10k if you fabricate absolutely EVERYTHING yourself (motor mounts, headers, exhaust, etc.) and get a good deal on a Miata shell that just needs a powertrain. It won’t be a hackjob if you are a good engineer/fabricator. $15-20k is more realistic though.

Can’t unsee it now.... cat meowing and backing up as to say “there are clingons near uranus, please help...”

Point me in the direction of a $10k LS swapped Miata that isn’t a total hackjob and I will buy it immediately.

I like the front and three quarter view, but that rear is like an animal...presenting itself.

Blackpool is Atlantic City, but with less hope and more desperation.

For rarity, this thing is a winner. I really, REALLY don’t like yellow cars, and I like them less with blue interiors. I’ve read that you need to keep your wits about you driving these as they have basically no traction aids anywhere and if the ass end gets loose on you, they can become a handful.

I see your Blackpool and raise you New Orleans.

Halfway through this article, everything made sense. TVR is based in Blackpool. Now, most Americans don’t understand Blackpool, because there isn’t an American analogue. Blackpool is a city that was ostensibly designed to be a haunted amusement park, and city planners succeeded in their mission.

I don’t often comment but I saw this news earlier and read up on his story (I was unfamiliar), and it just made me so heartbroken and angry. Talk about being dealt a shit hand, this kid deserved so much better than what life handed him.

I had a chance to meet this extraordinary young man and his mother years ago at his family’s restaurant here in Gary. He was working behind the counter, and we chatted about his love of cooking. Just an incredibly sweet kid. May he rest in peace, reunited with his mom.

Rest in Peace young Master Chef. May the ancestors welcome you with open arms.

As someone who has worked on Oem turbo cars and aftermarket kits I wanted to tell you that you are not losing your mind. The points that you laid out make perfect sense if you take a step back and look at things logically. Before I purchase anything I’m already thinking how am I going to fix this? Not being negative

I recently bought a Mazdaspeed Miata, and let me tell you what I think about turbos in small cars.

Even if they did what everyone here seems to want and put a turbo in, the cost would take it well into the mid $30s. You can buy a V8 domestic for that, or a 370Z, or any of the hot hatches, etc, all of which would outgun even a turbo BRZ.

I don’t see the fascination - I don’t want to have to rev the nuts off my car to make progress, and I don’t want shit fuel economy when I am not in a hurry. Turbos get you the big-engine torque without the big engine drawbacks. TANSTAAFL always applies, but it’s as close to a free lunch as you are ever going to get in

This new one sounds like it fixed the infamous torque dip. Maybe that’s enough for some people.

Maybe because I can pretty much count on one hand the number of NA sporty cars remaining, and I can’t comprehend why everyone is so gung-ho to get rid of them?

What forced induction system hurt you? You seem determined to defend Subaru’s choices here for some reason. I don’t have a dog in the fight, so I’m done.

Yeah my Saturn Sky is within about 100lbs of the BRZ now and has 260hp stock (and 245s all around). Lacks the low center of gravity of a boxer engine, but it’s also 13 years old now...I think a big selling point of the NA engine is it’s linear power curve, vs rather flat power curves of modern turbo engines. I’d still
