One of my huge pet peeves in the industry is that stupid mpge measurement they came up with. It was so dumb. They had a chance to convert the whole system to unit of power per mile and they didn’t. Had they done that you could directly compare an EV to an ICE without any math. Really a missed opportunity.

As automakers shift from horsepower to kilowatts to comply with stricter environmental regulations,

Another First Gear Take: A guy at work that really does know high tech electricity claims that “super capacitors” are the way Telsa is going.

I agree, great motor, but not with the Thule mobile-coffin on top. This guy has a beater that he wants premium bucks for. A 5 mile test drive? Proof I can row a manual? Screw him!

TOO MUCH: mileage, scars, roof crap (I’d sell that Thule unit), seller attitude

+1 for “nope dude”. I like it.

I didn’t think it would last long at that condition and price. NP.

Of course if it was the three door hatchback, I would be genuinely upset about not having that car.

Nice car

I like Patrick and Stef's writing.  Not sure what they have to do with the article title.

I think you meant, sorry I put something completely unrelated to the article in the headline.

What about all that "almost broke Jalopnik" though?  I reread this a few times and not seeing it.  Might be my lack of comprehension though.

I was planning to sell my manual 135i because I have too many cars. Yesterday, I took it out on a spirited drive in the santa cruz mountains - to pick up 50 lbs of tomatoes - with the kids. One of them threw up. But I had a goddamned blast and changed my mind on the sale.

Yeah, that’s a good point! I didn’t think of that.

Why replace the clutch then turn right around and sell it?

Well, whenever a seller says “just needs a clutch” commenters say “so do it”. Maybe the seller just wants to have an easier time selling it rather than listing it as needing repair.

I’d say to have the engine do more than just go vroom-vroom and actually move the car.

I’m in! Easy money to get into a pretty fun car. Still can’t vote (today I couldn’t even directly reply, had to piggyback here) but put me down for NP.

I agree. This is a sweet spot for a driver. It may not be the purist model, though if you want something to have fun in a few times a month then then is your ride.

I’ll take it! Looks good, seems to have been kept up. Not the best Vette and definitely not the worse.
