When I read the title

If things get “really bad”... long pig might be an option 😁

I remember a Filipino dish of whole stuffed fish... yum!

In my youth, in the UK the neck of lamb was called “scrag end” ... great roasted with oil garlic rosemary and canned tomatoes.. serve up with roast potato ... yum!

You should see how wood peckers deal with other birds at the feeder!

A recent article suggest NOT feeding the birds in Hot weather ... The feed can develop a fungus which is toxic to them ... once there is a chill in the air the fungus won’t develop so feed away at that time.... Also remember to clean your hummingbird feeder on a regular basis.

Having re located to a more sane place (Canada) I have noticed that canned soups here (even though made in the US) have less salt! (and a lot more variety up here as well!)

Have you checked the contents of “Iodised” salt ... they now use sugar as the anti caking agent!.... Sel Gris was one you missed ..... :)

Real Horror show ..... DHL....

I really like popcorn (probably from an failed attempt to make caramel corn in the UK)... Using a package of corn from the US that included a white dome of fat to pop the corn ...
Moving on to jiffypop in those “disposable” foil pans - still fun if you go camping
Pans on top of the stove
Then Microwave packages -

I have always liked beets (even the vinegar pickled ones!).. My wife not so much ... until 2 things at a friend’s house and they served slow roasted beets... she liked it.. Then I bought home some Borscht from a night school class I taught ... she quite liked that... Recently she even ordered a Beetroot & arugula

Sorry I thought you were talking Parsnips... Slice Them into smaller versions of themselves ... Quick boil then drain into hot oven with some Olive oil sprinkle of Salt ... the “browned bits taste yummy

In my youth in the UK I used to love “sweetbreads” coming from my Grandfathers Pigs. We used to have stuffed heart Saute kidneys. Steak & kidney pie and pudding. My Irish Aunt used to make Brawn. We ate pickled whelks and winkles. In Canada (and the US) I wouldn’t eat them, I also am “touchy” about premade Hamburgers

or Dim Sum!

Also a term for a larger meatball consumed with chips (french fries) and mushy peas.

Let him be guarded by Epstein’s guards....

Couple of things I may need “clarification” on ... A Blacklist I thought came from the habit of publishing death notices on black edged stationery. Black leg as a term for a worker who crossed picket lines came from the coal mines where someone who had gone down the mines during a strike would have been covered in

+ 1 for dentuclean .. I have used them for many many years since I found out bleach “eats” through Stainless. True you can get a “minty” flavour but a swirl round with waters after you have left it overnight removes it. Dentuclean is safe for consumption... where does the item you are meant to clean it end up.......

Craisins though!

Sometimes a wee dram of a single malt straight helps settle the Colly wobbles.
