side skirts on those tanks is usually simple rubber mats with ERA’s on them or very thin metal.
Never tanks have thicker metal skirts/screens.
However, in urban settings - all of it will be stripped off by urban landscape eventually.
It is easy to fix (just weld a new one).

Actual explosives are put into ERA plates before combat. During parades those are just empty metal boxes.
