So you screwed over poor Lawrence anyways. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Yeah, really interrupted the realistic flow of the rest of the flick :)
Just came here not to read the article, but to commend David on not using “unicorn” to describe a rare Jeep.
Great spring compressors though!
All I could see in this video was the GT Sport Tokyo track...
The 458 buttons are actually really handy on track, as you can indicate what side you want to be passed on / acknowledge you’re being passed without taking hands off the wheel. They are quite usable around town too.
I enjoyed the shot of him lapping the Misha Dacia at the end :) Great vid! Too bad the race was so short in the end.
Which Youtube “restorer” will wind up with this one, I wonder?
Also, let’s continue to not look at the DRC and the horrors associated with it too, for most batteries and really all electronics.
I wonder how we settled on a common standard for gasoline. Liquid much easier than solid, but somehow we figured that one out.
I’m so happy for Meyer Shank. Loved them in IMSA, they are bringing new life to Indycar.
They’ve practiced that one before (so have Mercedes) :)
Most of the companies around here (Canada) make you pay for your own appraisal, which is about $300 CAD. Just went through this process. Hagerty was the only reasonable option for me.
Throw in a truck purchase payment/lease, insurance, gas, parking, pissing around in yards for hours delaying your next load, and the net is often depressing and often negative.
At the risk of beating a dead horse, the article still states 6AM for F1 quali and race, and states “all times in Eastern time zone”. It was (and is) incorrect. The actual event coverage started at 9AM ET.
This is particularly prescient after reading Nomadland last week - an entire book about a community of mostly-retired people who regularly drive across the country, live in vans, survive on temporary shit jobs, and are respected by their temporary employers for their work ethic. Seems like an untapped opportunity.
Odd that when you pay people by the mile, they are incented to cut corners (literally in some cases). I’d rather pay more for goods and see my trucker buddies get paid appropriately than keep the BS pay-per-mile system we have today.
That was for owner/operators who bring their own equipment. 14k is the outside maximum for hours and the best loads, and I believe taking advantage of the hours of service exemptions for fuel delivery.
The military has a lot more imposed discipline than your average trucking company, and are incented a little differently. Also, I don’t think it’s super common for the military to send a lone grunt out on a multiple thousand mile mission.
Most declared value policies require a periodic full appraisal and can be insured up to the appraised amount. Saves fighting later. Doesn’t help in this crazy COVID collector bubble at the moment unless your appraiser is real friendly.
