However, we know he had already run a search on Littlefinger (because he threw that “chaos is a ladder” line back at him), so there was no reason he shouldn’t have IMMEDIATELY shared that info with Sansa and Arya.

I disagree. The motivations of the characters are clear and consistent in the novels. Littlefinger has plans that make sense (marry Sansa to the Vale’s heir to solidify his control, while plying her with promises of taking Winterfell in order to set himself up as the power in the North). In the show his plan is?????
