You realize that your seat assignment is also on your digital boarding pass, right?  It literally contains the exact same information (Flight number, boarding time, boarding close time, scheduled takeoff, group number, seat assignment, TSA Pre status, etc.) as a paper ticket.

Awesome point...I absolutely need you to scan your paper boarding pass 1.5 seconds faster so I can rush down the jet bridge and stand in line. Or there there’s no lineup I can sprint down to the plane so I can wait in line while everyone ahead of me is putting their bags in the overhead.

Correct. The only obvious scenario in which letting the ball drop is certainly the correct play would be if the game is tied in the bottom-half of the 9th or extra innings. Catching the ball in that situation would almost certainly lead to the winning run scoring and the game ending so you would be better off letting…

To be fair they had it pretty together in the 2017 World Series against the Astros. That series had multiple games that came down to one or two plays that decided the outcome which leaves a razor-thin margin in a seven game series.
