Erm, lots of people have commented on how the focus should be on keeping non-violent people out of prison and giving them the community service option. But I want to point out that non-violent offenders (especially those who commit property crimes or are repeat offenders) cause a lot of damage to society. It's not all

Agreed. Non-violent offenders sentenced to short terms typically don't benefit from prison, and that goes for male offenders as well.

I don't really see why the focus has to be on women here; just non-violent offenders in general.

You mentioned this in passing so I just want to pull it back out of the ether:

Women of color are vulnerable. Women of SIZE are also vulnerable (regardless of color, but especially if they are both of color AND size).

All the discussions sparked around this issue seem to focus entirely on the fact that women are

He didn't 'find them' he dug up their graves and stole their bodies. I don't personally believe in preserving the dead through embalming and burial (I'm a cremation kind of person) but if someone dug up my loved ones to *play* with their corpses I would be extremely upset. Not only that, but these were children. As a

It's not the dead person who is bothered by the desecration of their corpse. It is the loved ones among the living. I literally can't imagine if this were one of my daughters. I don't usually react this strongly to sick shit on the internet (or ignorant comments), but this one has gotten to me.

Who let King Joffrey on the internet?

oh, well, as long as you're not too bothered!

Also, Chelsea is like twice Bristol's age.

"Patience is a virtue, but impatience gets things done."

They grab kids because they know a fourteen year old will freeze and not call them out.

Well said. My boyfriend is also of this type, and we had JUST had a conversation about the differences between men and women in public (ie feeling safe/being alert bullshit) when I was cat called while walked with him. He turned and said "did that just happen?" I nodded and said, "yeah, and it happens often."

Also, would it be in bad taste to point out Bristol's mother was a proponent of "abstinence-only" education, and Bristol had a child at 17 while unmarried? And that Chelsea was married for several years before she had a kid?

only bang a guy with a downstairs bathroom.

I have a niece who was molested by her stepfather. Once he was caught in the act, by my sister, he ran from the cops and eventually killed himself during a raid of a drug house that he was staying in. My sister still has the nerve to talk to his family, his father a crack head and younger brother who also did

It's always strange to me that people always tend to want to touch two things: dogs and children. And not just touch, but pick them up, put them on our laps, hug them, squeeze them, tickle them, kiss them, rub their hands and feet. None of this is done with the permission of the child/animal. (The animal, some people

WTF? People are terrible.

Sorry. Sometimes things get muddled in the interwebs. Just using "an abundance of caution" like with Ebola. ;-)

That's it. Why do we even need other people to tell us what to do? Obviously every mother and every baby is different so why not just learn about each other and what works for them? Setting arbitrary standards only leads to stressed, depressed moms and starving/overfed babies.

Every animal is really the same person.
