I read the first Wolf Among Us trade last week, and I really enjoyed it, despite the fact that I knew a lot of the story beats having played the game. It was actually kind of interesting to see which choices the writers made. I also felt like Justus and Sturges had a good handle on Bigby's character.

Lazarus is, hands down, my favorite book on the stands right now. It's also the only book where I spend nearly as much time reading the backmatter as I do the story itself.

My LCS using comixology's pull list service, and I put Insexts on there a month or two ago, so hopefully they'll have ordered it for me as I don't see this as a book they would normally have on hand. The weirdness of the concept was enough to win me over.

I've been picking up the Paybacks and really enjoying it. It's funny! The letters column and Space Step Dad are worth reading, and the art is great. I think the hook at the end of the third issue was enough for me to get fully on board.

I was pleased with the production quality on Tomboy. The paper was thick enough that I didn't see any bleed through, and it had somewhat of a glossy finish.

I'm not loving the second story arc as much as I did the first, but I'm still enjoying it. Part of my issue is that the main characters now have two names that they'll call each other and it often takes me a bit to remember them both. I picked up two weeks of pulls this week. The first week of the month is always packed for me, and some DC delays didn't help things any. Also found out that my LCS was able to order Tomboy #1 for me, so that was a pleasant surprise. Art in that book is gorgeous, and I'm excited to see where the story goes.

I had an expensive week of pulls, so I was actually a little bit glad that my LCS was out of the Sheriff of Babylon. I'll probably wait for the trade on it now, along with the Vision. It's going to be tough, though.

Paybacks #2: I thought the first issue was funnier, but I quite liked this issue as well. I had bought the first issue on a whim, but I'll likely stick with this. It also made me want to track down Buzzkill, which I'm unfamiliar with.

I don't think it necessarily establishes a certain period, as yes, I saw that kind of talk in the late 90s when I was the characters' age, but I think it's probably accurate to the period, at the very least.

Yeah, it was certainly an interesting choice to make him an asshole. I think it's a large reason why the arc didn't really work for me.

I was under the impression that Image creators did have control over the trade pricing. Justin Jordan posted to Facebook last month about why he didn't price the first Spread trade at $9.99.

I read the first issue of Martian Manhunter and really liked it, but my LCS didn't have the second issue (and I was spending too much on comics anyway) so I just decided to trade wait. I found the Mr. Biscuits stuff especially compelling. Glad to hear it's still a solid book.

I actually really liked Immonen and Pichelli's four issue stint on the book, but it ends on a tease that is never explored, and you'd probably have to read Moore's dreadful 10 issues to get there.
