What did you think of Survivors Club? I wanted to like the book more than I did. It was by no means bad, but I think I wanted to like it more than I actually did. The art is great and I could see the story going to some really interesting places, but there was also a lot in this first issue that just didn't hit with

I read the first issue of Martian Manhunter and really liked it, but my LCS didn't have the second issue (and I was spending too much on comics anyway) so I just decided to trade wait. I found the Mr. Biscuits stuff especially compelling. Glad to hear it's still a solid book.

I actually really liked Immonen and Pichelli's four issue stint on the book, but it ends on a tease that is never explored, and you'd probably have to read Moore's dreadful 10 issues to get there.

Some 6-issue (or 5-issue) soft covers really do cost $20 nowadays, but this looks more like a limited print run that sold out in many places.

This is good news. Now we just need more people to buy the book so that it gets extended beyond 12 issues.

I'm currently reading three DC books monthly - Omega Men, Gotham Academy, and Prez. The Omega Men cancellation is a huge bummer, and it makes me doubt that DC will actually do a second Prez mini.

The first issue didn't do anything for me, so I haven't read any since then. Did you like the next two issues better than the first.

No, this one had only Mad Love, along with the original layouts and colors with notes from Timm. I'd probably preferred to have the one with all of Dini's stories, but that wasn't what I had. I borrowed it from the library, so I can't really complain.

Lazarus #19: An issue focused on supporting characters, and it was great. I mean, yeah, the cliffhanger at the end of #18 wasn't much of a cliffhanger, which Rucka even acknowledged in the letters section, but I think he did a pretty good job of selling it for this issue. Also great to see Casey be more of a bad ass.

I thought the art style was great for Kyle's and Kalista's stories, but it didn't work for me when it was just Kyle and Kalista in the cell.

Yeah, the resolution was incredibly rushed, but I think the creators were forced to cut the series short.

In single issues, I read Gotham Academy #9, Injection #4, and Kaijumax #5. I enjoyed all of these.

Single Issues: Omega Men #3, 8house #2, Nailbiter #15, Ms. Marvel #17. Omega Men was great. 8house was intriguing, and I'm definitely on board, but it looks like it's shifting gears next issue (with a subtitle change), so I was kind of expecting some more closure. Also find it strange that the subtitle for these two

This is what I've heard as well. Peter Pan isn't public domain in the UK, so his original plan was scrapped.

I actually feel like Fables picked back up after the defeat of Mister Dark, though it never quite reached the heights of the Empire stuff. The Rose/Snow conflict was the least interesting part post Mister Dark, but I found Inherit the Wind, Cubs in Toyland, and the Brandish stuff all pretty compelling. I also really

Lots of trades and a few stragglers from last week.

My favorite two series are Urasawa's Monster, which has been mentioned, and Eden: It's an Endless World! by Hiroki Endo. It's a cyberpunk story that's definitely not for everyone. I'll just copy and paste a description from TV Tropes:

Bone was my gateway drug when I was a kid, and it still stands up. That guy knows what he's talking about.

I picked up Island, the Fiction, Giant Days, and Kaijumax this week. These were all enjoyable books, though it was the most serious issue of Kaijumax so far and I don't know if it completely worked for me. Island was definitely great value, and I'm actually a sucker for anthologies. It had been a while since I read

I really like Love Letter. I picked it up because I was looking for a game I could play with my family, and it did the trick. It also helps that it's really inexpensive.
