I'll second this. Snyder's Batman doesn't have the best reputation around here, but aside from Death of the Family, I've enjoyed what I've read. Plus the Court of Owls and Zero Year stuff is pretty self contained despite tie ins from lots of other books.
This is very sad. Super Smash Bros. Melee sessions were my main form of socialization in high school and probably kept me from falling into depression as much as anything else. This news hit me hard.
Well, it's not hilarious, but he's got something touching and poignant up.
Well, is it at least better than the Saved by the Bell graphic novel that just came out?
So I don't know if this is an appropriate space for this, but Amazon currently has the second volume of Southern Bastards for the price of a single issue (though backordered). Lots of Image first volumes are almost half off, too, including the first volume. I'm picking up the first two Southern Bastards trades since…
I'll probably trade wait on a few of these (Greg Pak writing Amadeus Cho, New Avengers Sunspot AIM antics), but there's not a whole lot here to entice me if they're still selling everything at $4 a pop. And if they up the cover price on Ms. Marvel (an inevitability, yes), I'll seriously think about dropping it.
I dropped this after the first arc. I enjoyed it, but not as much as some of Brubaker's other work. Plus, it was a really slow burn that I felt like would read better in trade.
I've read these, in addition to Vol 4, and Vol 2 is easily the standout. I mean, I've enjoyed all of them, but the Hidden Kingdom is fantastic.
The prices for these games seem pretty reasonable, but I feel like the prices for more common games are a little bit expensive.
I also read the Nimona collection (which was delightful), and yeah, the size of the book was too small. I guess that's somewhat balanced out by the fact that it's rather inexpensive, but I'd be willing to pay more for a larger print.
Yeah, it kind of made me wish that Damien was a permanent cast addition.
Boom explicitly compares it to Unwritten in the solicit. But this excerpt reminds me a little more of the Magicians.
I put this on my pull list because I like Rubin's art. I liked what I read here, so hopefully the finished product is of similar quality.
Injection - Is this a book about sandwiches? I don't really know what's going on, but I'm digging it so far.
Are these Last Days issues supposed to be heavily tied in to Secret Wars? I don't really want to have to buy (or wait to check out from the library, whatever) additional issues to understand what's going on.
I took advantage of the Valiant deal at Denver Comic Con with pretty similar choices, though I subbed in Eternal Warrior V. 1 and Dr. Mirage for Archer & Armstrong and the Valiant. Probably would have picked up the Valiant had I seen it.
Why did I just watch that Sega Saturn reel?
I've been thinking about jumping on board Action Comics, and possibly Superman, but the interconnected Truth arc across all the Supertitles had me hesitating. I still think I'm going to give it a month before deciding, but that's good to know that Pak and Kuder have at least suggested that theirs can be read without…
I talked myself into trade waiting on Bizarro even though I was originally going to pick it up. Money is tight this month and I decided I'd rather support the potentially ongoing Omega Men. If my LCS still has it in a couple of weeks, I may pick it up, but there are far too many DC books I'd like to try out this…
