This is nonsense. There was huge outcry and rage over the Steam leaking of information and it was rightly reported on, that doesn’t suddenly mean that Epic’s faults shouldn’t also be reported on.

Its probably a hold over from Fortnite. Too many vbucks purchases at a time just messes with the system.

I’ll do you one worse. They released a public Trello board to see how far away certain features were from being integrated.

Yes, because you’re doing a single transaction. If you buy ten items at the grocery store they don’t run your card ten times. But if you want to buy 10 games from the Epic store, that’s exactly what happens.

My understanding is that they’d be bundled together into a single transaction. A number of attempted transactions in a short period of time is a typical flag for fraud, and my guess is that Epic is using a typical fraud prevention template that doesn’t account for the... unique peculiarities... of their storefront.

Oh, it’s even more embarrassing than that. The Unreal Engine Marketplace—which is part of the same software client the Epic Game Store uses—has a shopping cart. So they have one Epic storefront that has no shopping cart, yet literally two clicks away is a different Epic storefront with a shopping cart. How is it that

Its not banning you for trying to get a deal. It’s banning you for making multiple purchases in a short span of time because they don’t have a shopping cart. I’m not suggesting this is any better, merely the situation. Clearly they need to improve.

According to some random dude on here, it’s because Epic isn’t sure if the store is going to be viable, so they have no reason to sink resources into advanced things like a shopping cart.

Shh, don’t let the secret out! :D

Would having a Shopping cart stop it from being multiple purchases

Epic. Fix your shit. Please. I want to like you. On basically any other store, $5 for a season of TWD would be a steal. But there’s no reason for this client to be a clunky, dated, and devoid of basic features...not to mention how outright suspicious it is.

Shopping carts are hard to code, I guess.

It's called "news". It's silly to choose to interpret it as hate.

I have no skin in the Epic vs Steam thing going on. I’ll use Epic if they give me a reason to, so far there isn’t an exclusive on there that I want.

The problem is that to buy, for instance, 5 games during their sale, because they have no shopping cart, you would by them in a row, quickly, which might look fraudulent. Why they have no shopping cart is honestly beyond me.

What hate is in that headline? As the article says, their is a massive sale on at Epic and could potentially get a ton of people get their accounts blocked if they buy a certain number of games. It’s better to warn people about that issue with reporting like this.

Another flaw to criticize. Although, I am thankful for the comments introducing me to itch.io. There are so many great places to buy PC games, and I’d love to have the freedom to do so, as long as there aren’t exclusivity agreements stopping me.

There is a notable difference in framerate for some games.

No you don’t NEED to use direct x but not using it is just making development significantly more difficult and also makes porting just as difficult.
