I miss pre-halogen sealed beam headlights. Their light output was reddish so that they didn’t destroy night vision like these modern bluish LEDs do. They were less bright but then you had night vision because you weren’t getting blinded by blue light. I never had trouble driving at night with their lower lumen output.

I think Subway is missing the point, it's not about slicing the meat in the store, it's about slicing it right when a sub is ordered. If you pre slice it you run into the same issue with more of the meats surface area being exposed to air.

there is literally no other valid reason to buy a different color

It’ll be fun watching him fall on his face on the national stage in the lead up to 2028.

(Virginia voter here)

We should applaud the GOP for having such a sex-positive attitude in the workplace. You would never think that a bunch of wannabe theocrats would have a whole department prepping porn for their constituents.

I’m sorry, but the forefathers would NEVER deign to acknowledge the authority of a COLORED man! Therefore, neither Thomas nor Alito (what with his swarthy Italian blood!) should be recognized. This also means they will not bother to acknowledge Coney Barrett, Kagan, Sotomayor, or Brown Jackson. This Supreme Court

So much of our government is based on gentlemen’s agreements that it’s surprising it’s taken them this long to realize nothing is actually compelling them to act like gentlemen.

what you’re describing is a well known aspect of American legal realism; namely, that judges decide how they will judge on a given case before exploring historical analogs or other sorts of legal documentation. the judges then pick and choose those historical cases that support their interpretation of the current case

Dude if the founding fathers had their way a Catholic and a black man would *not* be in any position of power at all

Alito, Thomas and the rest of the feudal Justices should die of consumption or cholera just as the forefathers intended.

For many years now, I’ve been of the mindset that SCOTUS Justices rule upon, and construct their opinions, by working backwards from the results they desire based on their personal politics. I’ve long thought they basically invent the road in front of themselves while pretending it was always there.

Listen, it’s okay that people who have a verifiable track record of abusing partners have access to weapons that make it easier to abuse them even more, because people in the 18th Century totally thought that domestic abuse was a thing. Totally!

My favorite line:

At this point, Viscounts should just be a brand of mint flavoured biscuits.

George Clinton the musician is still alive to confuse with the Founding Father.

His death kind of spoils the joke where one is talking about about 19th century American gunboat diplomacy and the opening of Japan by force by Matthew Perry and one cuts to a picture of this Matthew Perry and says “not this one”.

Timberlake overplayed his hand years ago and made things worse for himself by continuing to make rude and uncalled for comments about Britney as recently as 2018. He really thought Britney would be silenced forever and he was never going to have any fallout from her telling her story. Now he is just waiting for

JT used that breakup to his advantage for *ten years* after they split, implying she was the one who cheated.

I will never understand that mindset. Seeing those guys enjoying themselves and each other, only joyful feelings ensue.
