Agreed. Financially vulnerable people shouldn’t be driving $50,000 vehicles.

What’s worse than the exterior color selections is the interiors. I won’t buy a car with a black interior! It’s too freaking hot in the summer. You think people would know that by now. I want tan/brown/pale grey anything but black and dark grey. Even red or ivory. Black sucks!
First, 50 miles from Cleveland, OH is not “the middle of nowhere”. You’re equal distance to Pittsburgh, or Toledo, or Columbus. That’s pretty freaking urban to anyone west of the Mississippi. If you were enrolled at, say, Deep Springs, NV (50 miles from the metropolis of Bishop, CA) that would be different.
When dealers make a move “to keep sales churning” it’s because sales are trending down, not up. The reason they need to make these loans longer than the warranty is because people can’t afford shorter ones. The price of new vehicles has so outpaced the average persons salary increase that people are starting to quit…
OMG! DOZENS of people cited for breaking a law passed 6 MONTHS AGO! That’s an average of less than one a week. Any State trooper could easily write that many tickets in a couple days in most States with a “keep to the right” law on the books.
You’re wrong. They should seat two people, and maybe a dog.
Really? Without the gun connotation this would have been the Mustang Nerf. Steve McQueen was a shooter, and a good guy. Try hard and grasp the concept.
Actually, it’s Nepotism, which is usually a sign of corruption.
Using anything low as a barrier will just cause the vehicles to get airborne; and that’s not good. What you want are metal posts, 6"-8" in diameter, three foot tall and sunk in the same, and filled with concrete. You want to paint them bright colors because the bare metal is ugly. That will stop anything short of a…
C-10.
Agreed. Which is why I still drive a 30 year old C-19 with an 8' bed that can actually haul something.
That’s not a truck, it’s a really big car with and uncovered trunk. They really need to end the EPA Fuel exceptions for trucks, and force the manufacturers to build something with 50 mpg and the ability to haul stuff other than half a ton of passengers.
The only way these cars can make you look like you have money is if they are immaculately clean and cared for. And that pretty much holds true for any decent, older, car.
Is it morally acceptable to allow millions to starve to death in despotic slavery?
In the 1960's, if you wanted a German car, you got a Porsche, and if you wanted a paperweight, you got a Lotus.
Southern Spain. Or Portugal. In the US? California between Santa Barbara and Eureka or Hwy 395 (best drive in the USA).
Agreed. And too quickly you get to the point where people won’t want to work if they can’t have a measurably better lifestyle than those who don’t. Besides, low skill jobs only have value in less industrialized economies. Most low skill workers cannot absorb or afford the training needed to move them to a higher wage…
50,000 jobs. The switch to electric vehicles is going to kill those off anyways, as they use one tenth the parts liquid fueled vehicles use. Actually the lose due to electric vehicles and increased robotics is going to be so massive no one wants to talk about it. Reasonable estimates are that autonomous trucks will…
I had the competition; a 1987 Mitsubishi Mighty Max. Bought it new for less than $6k off the lot. Sold it with over 225,000 miles on it and still going strong. It got 28 MPG! Why can’t we have that improved on? The only thing that ever broke on it was a water pump at 160,000 miles. Cost me $75 Canadian to get fixed.
BMW’s iconic 1602, 1802, 2002 series coupes, since the Cord 812 is out of the question. These light, fun to drive, responsive cars would be ideal for modernization.
