Wrong Wheel Drive (41%)

Well yeah its because freeways are FREE to drive on. Roads back East are not free, they have tolls!

pun intended I hope

Even in New England, you still need the “I” in front of the numbers. It needs some sort of word to not sound weird. Its just outside of Socal it would be “I-95 North, I-91 North, I-84 East, to I-90 East”. And that is assuming none of those have local names. Like if I-90 was the mass pike, its probably going to be said

Signs that do not give cardinal directions piss me off to no end. I could really care less what city is in that direction, all I need to know is am I going to be traveling North or South once I get on the highway via this exit.

100% if those roads were changed to numbers, people would most certainly do the same thing people in Socal did.

But that is just straight up incorrect English

It was a fairly easy change for me going from NJ to Los Angeles. Since in NJ you mainly have “The Parkway” and “The Turnpike” as your rough equivalent to Socal Freeways. And even so “THE (insert freeway #)“ only really applies to freeways, not just any old highway. For example, I am not going to say “The 39" when

Depends on the condition of your motor mounts lol. No way could I daintly shift my Miata between 2nd and 3rd under load. All other gears are smooth as butter after rebuilding my shifter but that one change requires a nice shove and a CLANG. Refreshed mounts would make that less shovey and clangy.

I do not understand why there are still light switches at all on newer cars. If anything, I have learned auto lights are so simple. Just get rid of the damn stalk or switch for the lights entirely. If there needs to be settings (like for lights on in the rain) then just simply a big damn ON/AUTO button is all that is

I mean its obviously a tongue in cheek kind of statement lol. Although I would certainly put the WRX in a similar category as the Mini. While not nearly as unreliable, its not exactly a cakewalk in that department either.

Isn’t every truly wonderful car that isnt a Miata also terrible with reliability if you chose to try and daily drive it? Like I am sure daily driving a Ferrari would get very expensive and impractical.

After driving some modern cars, I FULLY understand how the no lights situation ends up on some of these cars. While it would be IMPOSSIBLE to miss that I didnt turn the lights on in my Miata (gauges are dark, I literally cant see anything in front of me). It definitely is easy to still see in the dark with DRLs in

Well yeah turning 1400 rpms at like 85mph is pretty nice!

Haha that sounds like an excellent yet probably very boring thing to do.

It all depends on how the car is geared. My Miata spins 4k rpms at 80mph in 6th gear. It certainly will feel like it could use a 7th while cruising. But also I’ll gladly throw it into 6th even at 45mph if it’s not an incline and I’m just cruising along.

I think most people would consider the pricing on used WRX/STi to be overpaying. I mean its difficult to find a used STi of any generation for under $20k if you want one in good shape. If you are brave enough to try one with mileage you can get a pretty good deal, but it’s a risky endeavor since these are rarely well

And the rest of the people driving around don’t do that? I’ve found that Uber/lyft drivers are no worse than normal idiots driving around. And ALL are far better than your standard taxi.

Miata is definitely always the answer in LA, just have to be in the right part of the area always :-)

I love how they just plainly state “increase the risk of crash” when its either “ABS might not work 100% effectively” or “The steering wheel will stop working entirely” like those are the same problem.

I hope you are prepared for all of the cars to get stolen! Seeing as this is Newark... So much stuff going on that day. I will be in California on a trip but even if I was here there is an end of the year NJ Miata meet that day as well as a Bear Mountain cruise with another big car group. Seems like a really cool idea
