But a donut is also only rated for about 50 miles. I wouldnt dare driving more than that or any faster than the recommended speed on the tire. I see people driver around for months on a donut and gladly go 80 mph. That is a death wish!

I would never trust a donut tire to drive any amount of distance. I would rather just have my car towed to a tire shop and get a new tire. This is why I have towing insurance that costs me $12 per year and will bring me to the nearest shop. Much safer than using a damn scissor jack on the side of the road and getting

Ive managed to empty my Miata tank of about the same size with a completely stock engine in just under 200 miles. Just takes A LOT of aggressive driving all day at the Dragon. So yeah its definitely doable to get that lower!

Yes, highly practical! I dont usually keep the luggage rack on unless I need it. And I can only tie things to the roll bar with the top down. But yeah in general ive been able to haul a lot of shit with this car.

Definitely having this happen. Having a car come at you on the wrong side of the road and choosing to crash into a wall to wreck the car instead of likely death by oncoming traffic is frightening. Not that I really had time to think about it anyways. But after much time, I have been bringing the car back to life.

Uhh, how about properly funding public transit and implementing it in such a way to make it useful? Uber/Lyft only do so well because public transit is such a joke; it takes longer, isnt that cheap, and the conditions are awful (delays, trash/homeless people, construction outages). I am a huge proponent of public

This is why I enjoyed my time with a Chevy Spark for a 4 day, 700 mile business trip. It was so bad that it was good. I even managed to pass someone on a 2 lane road (granted we were going downhill) and it smoked the tires at every traffic light.

I find that “budget” and “real” airlines make no real difference in price most of the time. Assuming you book in advance, are flexible with airports and dates, and dont need a ton of baggage, its all the same pricing anyways. Flying in general is so absurdly cheap that there is no point in trying to save $5 to deal

Haha whoops, thats a fun typo. There is actually a sign in a neighborhood nearby that I found which says “NO ENGINE BREAKING” which I find laughable. Im pretty sure it is supposed to say BRAKING but it makes me think of exploding engines every time.

Honestly the Double DIN stuff that is common now are the worst offenders. Touch screen menus and all that. But the car is probably the only place I want that crap to just work. Apple needs to be in charge of that shit in every car and just make it function. Yeah it would be expensive, but at least it would work

5th Gear: How about less technology? I am all for the improvements in engine efficiency, better designed suspensions/chassis, crash structure and other passive safety, and just parts being built better. But I have no need for infotainment, blind spot monitoring, and all that crap out there in new cars. If I need a

I sure hope autonomous car modifications are a thing. Modifying a car would certainly be much more complicated but would lead to very interesting things. Like modding the autonocar to break the speed limit by +14 and slow down slightly via engine breaking when cops are detected. Or program it to cut people off since

I want to say top down because my car lives it’s while life that way, so it should die that way too! But it’s more aerodynamic with the top up technically

Well yeah but dealing with the people getting angry and potentially keying your car or egging your house after they leave (and come back at 4am to vandalize your shit) is just not worth it to me. Yeah, you cant appease everyone but just the idea of starting with “FIRM PRICE” is silly because no matter what, people

Oh of course if the price says firm, i would just ignore that item for sale and save my time. Unless of course it truly is fairly priced. But its almost IMPOSSIBLE as a seller to ever end up with a buyer who is not trying to save $5. I dont have the patience to tell someone no over $5 lol.

I managed to net $953 after expenses. I think there were some stupid expenses like the unlimited cell data and excuses like getting tired or being too dirty. Regular shower in the morning and keeping the AC on would solve the cleanliness problem. And I could just get a cheaper cell provider and not use the phone for

The issue is that no price is firm. Unless you dont want to sell the item. I tend to completely ignore ads for anything that state the ad is a firm price. You can be minimally flexible, but just being firm is a waste of time.

As long as you dont count whenever ALL parts of the vehicle come to a stop. Seeing as there are probably some things which will be thrown very far away from the crash...err I mean stopping site.

I wonder if I could even beat this by throwing my Miata out of a plane from sufficient height.
