100% THIS. Fucking hypocrites. As if this wasnt expected though...

Im pretty sure drag strips are generally “run what you brung” type of places where you just need to have a seat belt and thats about it.

Its an important part of lean manufacturing which is HUGE for Toyota. So it makes sense that they would not be able to process custom orders.

I dont understand how you are supposed to stay in control of a bench seated vehicle while going around turns. Its hard enough in seats with poor bolstering much less none at all.

WHAT, I CANT HEAR YOU OVER BWAHHHH BWAHHHHH BURBLE BURBLE BURBLE

This is why dealers need to disappear and manufacturers only sell direct. Sure that might cost more somehow but thats fine, it would make the whole process better. I want to buy a car like I would a phone on amazon. Hopefully in general, the “salesperson” role will go extinct in most fields.

Interesting. Hadn’t heard of them before. I wish they had older/cheaper cars since it seems they only have 2011+. Makes it not very useful to me but from browsing the system, it seems to be pretty nifty and of great value.

They will get sued by the dealer unions and banished to oblivion because of it.

I mean I think that’s too boring as is. Saying “I want an exciting color” and ending up with red is just so typical. This is why I love stuff like yellow, orange, a nice deep purple, or even better would be a crazy pearlescent paint job. Anything that is different. Even a deep red, like Mazda’s new “Soul Red” is just

Its insane how many cars are white, silver, grey, or black. And then its funny how obvious the few yellow, green, and red cars stick out in the fields of blah colors.

Idk, before getting into Autocross I was a panzy about going around turns but now after a couple years of it, every turn is taken at 11/10ths in every car I get my hands on. I do actually speed less because I dont want speeding tickets, but its unlikely to get pulled over for going spirited around turns.

This is really interesting. Further back generations could be worth doing as well. Like an Rx7 vs Rx8.

Because it uses a lower gear ratio, making the car quicker to accelerate. Obviously this just wasted gas and made lots of noise at constant speed though lol

Yeah, with a crane

From my rental CVT Sentra yesterday. Unfortunately some highway driving later on brought it up to a daily average of around 27. It was too noisy to leave it in L with O/D off while going 70+, that would have been the only way to maintain my low mileage. At least it was in SPORT mode which helped keep it under 30.

Shit, this post is like a week too early. My car might be in the shop next weekend when I planned on doing an autocross. I will be renting whatever cheapest car I can get and using that for the event. Would have made for a great story!

Sweet, definitely going to try to go to this next year with my Miata!

These make me smile as much as the average reddit reader reacting to cats on r/Aww!

UGGGGGGGHHHHHH AUTOMATIC. I wish there were factory manuals of these in some appreciable number (the sedans have some but they are hard to find). I definitely would want one.

Sometimes you think “this will get better” but it never does. I’ve done the same thing in my Miata but I just took my time and went obscenely slow. It would have been faster at that point to detour but turning around was dangerous and it was all downhill anyways so I figured I wouldn’t get stuck. Bad idea though since
