Wrong Wheel Drive (41%)

Would have been more hilarious if you showed up to the wrong house 4 hours later and then decided to look up where you were.

Google maps tends to avoid dirt roads. Ive definitely had a TomTom or similar take me down unpaved roads though!

Ive used my 100TW “FOR DRY COMPETITION ONLY” tires for a short drive in the rain before to get from an autocross event back to my campsite a few miles away. It was sketchy as all hell but not as bad as I expected. Thankfully the max speed limit was like 40. Would not recommend lol.

Well yeah this is why I only cared about putting tires on my Miata, all other mods are superflous. Sure I put in some halfway decent coilovers and a sway bar and some other junk, but none of that matters in comparison to the tires! Hence why I end up in a ridiculous autocross class...

This is a very good point. When I bought my Miata I kept going to Miata club drives and hanging out with just Miatas. But that kind of became an echo chamber and got boring. So I expanded my way of thinking and have learned to enjoy all sorts of cars because of it. Now I can talk to ANY sort of car owner and connect

Idk, I kind of thought Miata was the worst answer for this one. If anything Miata owners have the least seriousness out of anyone. We just want to have fun and not pay too much for it. Thats why I love Miata communities anyways, the majority of people are just having a good time not taking shit too seriously.

Nobody suggested a Miata?? He is in LA and practicality doesnt matter and fun is important. Life is just that much better when you just drive a Miata everywhere. $3k Miatas are easy to find and that leaves some leftover money for mods or to start a nice savings account.

Well yeah this is kind of how I felt about it. I understand waiting until 25, because a lot of people are still in school until then and likely not really in the real world yet. I guess 30 is kind of to get the “married with kids” sort of folks without directly discriminating towards that.

Good point, the s2k that I drove definitely did feel a little more solid. I couldnt quite put my finger on what it was but I definitely understand what you mean. I’ve found that my NB is certainly closer than NAs that I’ve driven, but yeah there is still that gap in rigidity that makes the S2k special. Flyin Miata

I like cumbersome tests, I think they are more fair. But thats because I like to think, thinking is fun. However, the way you explain it makes the most sense. Its kind of just a probability thing and limiting risk.

So does that mean I become old in like 5 years and all life is a decline from there? Haha, no I understand what you are saying. Its probably the reality for the majority of people.

I think people should learn how to be adults before leaving high school. It seems like too many people are still babies even through the end of a 4 year college. I guess the age where people become “responsible” very much varies and saying 30 is a good catch all for 90% of people.

I mean I felt that way at 16 but you know making it through highschool and then 6 years of college and finishing my Masters, I feel like that should be enough to determine I can do life, regardless of age.

I dont care if its the most obvious answer, I still love my Miata the most out of any other convertibles. I’ve liked other cars I’ve driven more but none of those have been convertibles. And really the number one reason is just how easy the top goes up and down. This is starkest difference from other convertibles. Two

Having driven an s2k and currently daily driving my Miata, I still think the Miata is a better daily driver. While the S2k is certainly better stock vs stock as a race car, the Miata is just so much cheaper for 75% of the performance. Plus I would much rather mod the Miata since modding an S2k ruins its astronomical

Honda should have made more of these. If they produced and sold as many as Mazda did the Miata, then it would be a much more accessible car. At the price point these go for, you can buy two Miatas and make them both better than the S2k lol. With just one, you have enough leftover cash to build forced induction or even

I never understand the age restrictions. People dont become 30 and all of sudden start driving better. Sure thats the easiest way to not allow “kids” to drive your car but it seems annoying to me. Maybe my perspective will change when I get old some day.

Fiesta sedan! Or any car that is meant to be a hatchback but then an ugly sedan version was created to appease the American market. The Fiesta hatch is such a quality normal car. This thing just makes me angry!

I think the important thing for people to clarify is whether they are a car driving enthusiast or a car collecting enthusiast. Both share many interests, but they have vastly different uses for cars.

My Miata spent the first 125k miles and 13 years of its life being completely stock and just driven around casually in the summer time. When I bought it, I proceeded to put snow tires on it and drive it 10k miles or more each winter and even more in the summer. Barely any commuting, just lots of enjoyment driving.
