Well I think the understated looks and underpowered motor are actually what give it more character. Sure, people modify them into track rats and such, but it is the characterization of the simplicity of the car that makes it intruiguing. It is the same way that the air cooled porsches arent very fast but it is just…
That feeling of “Once you’ve caught it it’s tough to go back to the mediocrity plaguing auto manufacturing today”. I think that just as easily applies to why Miata Is Always The Answer. Or a lot of other late 80s to 90s Japanese cars. With any amount of care, they run forever and provide endless no-frills, simple fun.…
This might not help, but I have seen someone fit a full sized Labrador in an NA Miata on the back deck lol. Saw this guy at MATG and he had driven a few hours that way without issue. Idk how that dog was okay with that but somehow it worked. I imagine there is more space in a newer Miata back there.
Any time I run into those types, I tend to just turn the cruise control up for a while to get away. As long as they arent oscillating more than 20+ in either direction, it should work fine. I don’t understand why people with new-ish cars on an empty road dont always use the cruise control. I use mine as much as…
Haha, I think people are silly in NJ that think they live in the Northeast. It’s like basically tropical here considered to up your way. Sure it eventually gets cold but there are so many warm and dry days that winter really isnt a struggle. I wouldnt even need snow tires if I wasnt driving to ski mountains all the…
Haha the people that go crazy for leaves are silly to me. That’s why I love going up into the mountains after all the leaves have browned but winter hasnt quite set in yet. That is when the weather is perfect and the touristy season has ended! Great for driving and hiking. But I basically live in Vermont every weekend…
Yeah I have always found that actual winter doesnt start until at least mid-Jan. Although last year winter was only about a week long since it was like 50-60 degrees through a lot of the rest of it here in NJ.
People in Vermont drive fast! One time while it was snowing, the ground was completely covered, and there was a heavy fog, I got passed quite quickly while going 45 in a 45. Another time I had a large tow truck pass me while I was going 60 on a curvy, hilly 45 (but dry) road.
I read every article he posts over there. But the commenting system is a bunch of garbage so I dont get to participate ever. Who would have thought I could ever like kinja more than something else?
Oh I agree that in general, there are objectively better and more interesting options. But the Camry is not terrible. Compared to just about any option from Nissan and a lot of the GM sedans, the Camry is a solid car. But my point was that being a “boring car” enthusiast could mean a lot of things. You could be into…
Well yeah I was saying that the ads are a different story. I meant from a design perspective, they didn’t through anything too aggressive on it. Fake vents, spoliers, and other "factory rice" is thankfully not included. Of course the advertisements are painful though!
I could totally see being an enthusiast of incredibly boring cars. The keypoint of a Camry is that aside from the “grounded to the ground” marketing, it is not trying to be something other than what it is. By this I mean that the Camry is a boring car but it is not trying to be something flashy or exciting. It is…
I think the problem is that in American English, "A" and "O" basically sound the same. Whereas in most other languages, it matters which way you pronounce it. But us Americans are lazy so the "O" sound just becomes an "A"
Roadkill! I always like the inspiration to use zip ties to fix everything. And throwing thousands of dollars worth of nice parts at a sub $500 car that ends up never working right. It just makes it seem so realistic to me instead of all the instructional videos that never have problems.
That thing is nuts too! That just has to be the life. Get paid a boatload of cash to sit on the dragon all day. And since he has people hired to take all the photos now, I imagine most of his day is spent doing whatever he wants.
Any interesting go kart looking things come out at night? I was told stories of some of the 'toys' that Killboy brings out late at night. It was so much fun to drive at that hour, even though I was worried about wildlife popping out like the whole time.
The wording of #8 regarding the hogging the left lane needs to be taken further. I just think the mantra of “stay right, pass left” needs to be more engrained in people. Too many times am I on a road with relatively light traffic where the left lane is chock full of people, middle lane is light on traffic, and the…
Well since he said "automotive" that means stance is out! Since part of being automotive means the car has to be able to drive. Stance cars can't actually drive!
