If there could be an electric car that weighed the same as a conventional car and handled extremely well, then I would be all for it. The extreme weight of the batteries are the number one reason I cant get behind electric cars.

Definitely needs to be much lower in order to use stickier tires. I feel like if it had more grip, it would have decided to flip over. Those wheels looked HUGE too, didn’t quite understand the 20+ inch wheels lol.
I mean sure slow car fast is better than fast car slow. But fast car fast is even better! I think for street use, yes a slow but communicative car is much more fun and usable. Most people would say a Miata is slow but I am having a hell of a time during normal every day driving. However, being on a track or any other…
Oh yeah, I saw an i3 at an autocross. That thing HAULED in a straight line! It was kinda tippy looking around the turns and the tires were squealing like crazy. But it was so strange that it made no engine noise and yet would accelerate like a bat out of hell every time.
I was just going to say this. I know a few guys in my local Miata group who love their giant purple dildo shifters.
Then you compare it to how much easier the manual top is on an NC/ND Miata and then EVERY other convertible is super inconvenient. Like sure my NB is easy, but the newer ones blow even that out of the water.
Well I did see some 4 door wranglers and new Cherokees so they would then fit in there.
Kind of funny to see so many jeeps in such an unnatural habitat.
I like when I don’t realize I am bleeding until I wonder what that red stuff is on my tools or whatnot. Then I promptly duct tape the wound and continue what I was doing.
As far as track cars go, there are far better options than a Miata really. Sure its a "good" option to use a Miata but that is mostly because it is cheap and there are a ton of them out there. But obviously its not for everyone. However, I think the Miata is actually much better as a backroad carving, adventure car.…
You must have a pretty light clutch then. I find it to be quite the leg workout to just hold the clutch down for an extended amount of time in my Miata. That is generally why I always throw it in neutral if I can.
You know, its funny that for how much more organized and less sketchy places like Autotrader are, I have always had better luck on Craigslist for actually finding a car I am looking for. It has some of the worst ads with crappy pictures and obscure ways to get the contact info (who posts an ad without a phone…
I would think there is an LTZ or Denali version of some trim level of the Canyon that has some nice seats. Hack job seats can be fun though lol. Just find a nice La-Z-Boy and weld in there, no problem! I only really understand how racing seats work so looking for more comfort is the opposite of whatever I am usually…
Some nice seats would definitely complete the package. Do you think the higher end, nicer seats out of the larger GM trucks would bolt right in? Like I wonder if you could find seats from a wrecked Escalade and throw them in here. I can’t imagine there are a ton of aftermarket options but maybe that is worth looking…
Ahh yes, such a fun road! I could pick out that rock wall anywhere. I still haven’t made it up there this summer yet so I have to get around to that. I am pretty sure I have a shot of my car in the same exact spot lol.
What road is this? It looks extremely similar to Storm King Highway up at Bear Mountain, NY.
Well the driving test for a 17 year old does not really need to be more difficult. Kids are too immature at that point to really grasp the importance of the finer details of driving. I know I didn’t really get it then. But I think there should definitely be retesting that focuses on intersections of all sorts, proper…
Man, I really need to get up to Vermont in the Summer time. I have a season pass at Sugarbush for the winter season and have spent a ton of time traveling 100 and 17 through there. Seems like some fun roads if they weren’t covered in snowy stuff. Ive taken my Miata through the App Gap after a nice snow storm. While…
I think as another unpopular opinion, driving should be MUCH more expensive as well. Even in areas with halfway decent public transit, it is generally significantly cheaper to drive than anything else. I would gladly pay much more for the privilege of driving. Some combination of increased availability of public…
