Wrong Wheel Drive (41%)

A 6 ton bridge collapsed from a weight of 30 tons? That does not sound like a very good factor of safety to me. That means there is a SF less than 5.0. I suppose that bridge has degraded over time and can no longer support that much weight or it was not built with a sufficient SF. Does not excuse the driver at all,

We got it in writing, it's official!

Neat!

Haha I certainly don't question the need to have it! It's awesome that you even get to drive it as much as you do. I hate when people have nice cars and just don't drive them.

That would be so awesome if you got Doug to come to a meet! And you need a convenient way to remove the top, I don't think I've ever seen the car top down lol

“got a title reissue for it to remove the salvage stamp” you can do that??

$33 million each? That sounds so cheap! I am guessing that has to be before inflation. What is that number in today's money?

Well that is different from practicality, that is just not fitting the car. I can certainly understand since I have my seat all the way back. I know that if my legs were any longer, I just would not fit. The whole notion that Miatas are for everyone is kinda silly but its certainly right for me!

She must have thought you are a magician lol. It is funny when I show people that scanner and they are like wait what, you are using your phone to fix the car???

My soft top? It was replaced a few months before I bought the car. Very much added to the value of it in my eyes. I believe its a Robbins top, I have the receipt somewhere. Glass window with rear defrost which is nice to have in the winter!

80s posters would be the best. I think it would be so great to fill my wall with just posters from the 80s.

Vlair makes some good compressors! I have one that I carry in the trunk of my Miata 100% of the time. Has made auto-x so much easier not having to deal with the gas station pump or some crappy walmart pump that takes 30 minutes to gain 10 psi and breaks after 10 uses. That Vlair pump is quiet, efficient, and appears

Torque free is more than good enough for most applications. My Bluetooth OBD reader though has been the best tool to always carry though. I cannot ignore a check engine light and it will eat at me every second of driving the car. Being able to check the code like at a traffic light just makes it so much less scary.

Every terrible but free vehicle would be a great candidate for some sort of race series. Just remove everything in the car that you can to save weight, get some sticky tires, and you are good to go! Even the Reliant Robin has to be fun in something. Maybe you just need to put training wheels on it or something? Full

Skiis fit in the passenger seat of a Miata. I would say any skiis under 180cm should fit from the passenger footwell to the back window. And if you have to transport a passenger at the same time, then luggage rack mounted skiis!

Yesss lets start a Miatas are practical chain!

Or it just teaches them to floor the car and drive it at 11/10ths of its ability at all times. This may be fun but probably dangerous when they eventually get in a real car.

Typically that's a joke though when people say it. But haha I should have known Doug Demuro would actually be crazy enough to do it. Did you record any interesting user names while going through the YouTube comments?

Yeah same, I didn’t bother making my own post because that one already defined it so well. It was so much easier to just hit the star and be done with it. I didn’t think Doug would actually literally read every post lol.

Just because its a used car doesn’t mean it has to be a project lol. And a little bit of wrenching as regular upkeep is definitely different from engine swapping and major rust repair.
