Lol "instead of letting your passenger touch everything" reminds me of the RCR video for the S2k. These are MY gauges, not yours!

Anything without a rear seat I would say. I think it just takes up space and adds weight. This is of course for a car that is solely driven for fun, not a family hauler or something that you live with as your only car. I am just saying that there are a lot of interesting cars out there that I think would be MUCH…
It confounds me how lost some people get though during auto-x. I get it if it’s your first event and you get lost and end up going the wrong way around a cone or two. But some people seem to take it to another level and end up going completely off course and make things up seemingly. Or even more surprising are the…
Sounds like a shitty area to live if you can never get above 2k! Just leave it in first gear all the time lol. I actualy really enjoy bombing down a city street at 20mph but in first gear. Car is revving to 5k but I am not really going anywhere. Sound echoing off the buildings and making me wish I had straight pipes.
Well mandating USEFUL fog lights would probably be a better idea. I have found that fog lights tend to just shine randomly depending on the design. Or people throw HIDs in there and blind everyone.
I think it would be cool if autonomous cars could be applied to the race track. Have the car do a couple of laps on it's own in autonomous mode to show you the maximum potential of your car and then let you take over. It could have a trainer mode where it helps you and progressively gives you less help.
My personal favorite is to always say “YOLO once”
I enjoy the suggested video that youtube decided to autoplay after this one:
Nothing a sawzall can't fix!
I cant shift the transmission if my cupholders are in use. Not that I ever put drinks in them anyways, but I always find it funny if a passenger tries to and I can no longer drive the car.
“traditional proportions”. Sure, the headlights have the traditional size of a full sized truck.
Wouldn't sinking a carrier automatically initiate world war 3 with nuclear stuff? I can't imagine any other scenario.
That sounds like you are making excuses. I just dress up like I am going skiing and then having the top down is pretty nice! Honestly though, a hard top is very nice on a Miata. I think it looks great and would gladly have one for the winter if I minded the cold and crap. Didn’t get the car because it's a convertible,…
Haha that is the fun part! Once you get the car to predictably enter DORIFTO mode instead of 'every damn corner', then you enter RWD nirvana. Proper tires definitely helps but I think just getting used to it is key. My Miata has taken quite a few slidey turns in the wet to teach me proper car control.
Shoulda went with an NB2! Sure a Miata is a Miata, but that VVT really does change so much in terms of how acceleration feels. I drove an NA and while it was definitely fun, I also definitely noticed the slow. The '01 I bought just felt a ton faster and more refined. With better tires, this car will be the best.
I have valet parked one of these before. It was harder to see out of the car than a Camaro, H1 Hummer, and those weird Infiniti FX things. And it wasn't just that it had blind spots but everything about it was so unconventional. Definitely one of the most unique cars I have driven, and that is not really a good thing…
I wasn't crazy about the electric steering. Felt very foreign to me. Definitely more powerful than my NB though and certainly has the classic "Miata" feel to it overall on a road course. It is a great car though, would be something to consider once it has depreciated a bit on the used market.
Older Miatas are cheap to buy and easy to maintain.
But what advantage does Horsepower specifically offer? All that matters really is the area under the curve. Peak horsepower is much less significant than having a linear curve to maximize that area. Having usable torque through the rev range is what makes the Miata special. It is not a Honda that needs 6900 rpm just…
How is 4k rpm really a problem though? Sure in some cars that would drone from the exhaust and rattle everything in the interior. But stock Miatas are quiet and assembled well. If anything, it just means you still have torque available at 70mph without having to downshift out of 6th gear just to pass someone. I…
