Visor is totally useless in my Miata, I really need to remove it. For the rare few times a year I actually drive with the top up, I cannot see any traffic lights thanks to the visor blocking the little area I can see out of.

Oh that sounds cool then! I have only seen the automatic 3 or 4 blinks thing which was frustrating lol. It is because I thought I had pushed it all the way but it actually only went to the short blinks. The bigger problem I guess was even if you went all the way it still returned the knob to the starting position.
I think the most underappreciated feature is weight. Maybe not really a feature but I think excessive weight is a serious issue and a car being lightweight is an underappreciated “feature”. Realworld MPG, power, and handling are very dependent on weight. Yet people often see low horsepower and think it means slow.…
I really dislike the halfway turn signal thing. When I am changing lanes, I like to signal before I initiate my turn, take my time moving over, and then turn off the signal. In a rental I had recently, it had the half-turn thing and I kept ending up changing lanes with no signal on because it had already turned off…
Yeah I love that the air recircuilator on my Miata is a switch that clunks into place when used. I don’t get to use it very often since the top is never up, but it is cool nonetheless.
There is a trunk pass through now? That sounds awesome! Just think of all the things you can now fit in a Miata!
I love not having ABS or stability control or traction control!
And it’s not even for drinks either. Actually putting a drink in either cup holder means I will have a hell of a time trying to shift in my Miata. But they are still very useful for putting my phone in or using as a concealed coin holder.
Man if your windows take 10-15 seconds to go up and down, you have got a serious problem haha. Gotta get some shin-etsu grease on there ASAP! I too agree with the sentiment though, it defeats the purpose of having the driver window automatic since I always lower both equally.
Wonder if there are any LS swapped Minis out there. I would imagine that would hot things up a bit.
No, you are correct. The parking brake is designed just for that, parking. I wish I didn’t grow up on automatics because then I would have better discipline with that. Now that I drive a manual, I always set the parking brake in my car. I would imagine it just becomes habit for some people everytime they park…
Yeah I could see that. But I think it’s also worth noting whether or not the car has an economy base-car (like in the case of the impreza). Even the base level Mini is not really an economy car (takes premium fuel, rough ride, tight handling). But I am sure there are exceptions to that rule as well. I don’t think…
Yeah in an automatic, I would never use the parking brake. Especially if on a level surface. People that pull into a valet parking lot and set the ebrake in an auto are the devil lol.
Anything is better than the damn button. I would rather have no parking brake at all and instead they give me a couple of wood blocks to put behind the tires haha. But my real complaint with the parking brake pedal is how it’s difficult to tell if it is actually engaged or not. Specifically as a valet parking…
I think being a hot hatch also has to do with handling and power/weight ratio rather than just outright power. The minis are still pretty light even with some getting fatter over the years. Plus they drive like go karts.
Wasn't that a Torch idea? I love thinking about how awesome that would be.
Yup, I would have kept my civic forever if it were a manual. It was as decent as a torque converted 4-speed auto could be but I will never go back!
Parking brake pedals piss me off for no good reason.
