Wrong Wheel Drive (41%)

Oh yeah, I am pushing 4k rpms at 80mph. But my Miata is so quiet that it never bothers me or has any sort of droning effect. The wind noise is definitely louder than the exhaust note while cruising. A 7th gear overdrive would be nice to have and get me a solid 35mpg on the highway, but that is unrealistic lol.

Yeah I really liked the idea of the Sonic and Spark having hopped up versions. The ones that did come out just weren’t crazy enough. I think a Spark with an LS swap would be pretty wild.

This is why I enjoy that older folks tend to be the people who buy new Miatas. They have a better chance of treating them nicely and keeping them stock. So that when I become the third owner 10-15 years later, its still in good shape. Works out much better than some other cars that get the drift and/or rice crowd.

That is still pretty quick in the real world application. I like this!

Yeah you get to say things like "I made the windshield wiper on that Cruze!" haha just kidding, but really I find it hard to get excited about the Auto industry as an Engineer. Sure I think F1 is super cool but I find it hard to get into economy cars and the normal stuff.

Well if anything it's about having usable street power. The S2k is unquestionable a better car on the track. But on the street in the low RPM range, Miatas are still very fun. So in light of your answer, a used NA or NB Miata with some suspension mods and you are still under $5k lol.

There are sunny days in the winter too! And even if its not sunny, the cold breeze feels rather nice. Top down and windows up is quite the good configuration for the winter. And no overdrive is very nice, makes the torque exist even in 6th gear.

Both if you are creative enough, but that is definitely a good point to consider.

Miatas in the snow are so much fun. Top down in the cold is a surreal experience. Feels kinda like you are skiing.

isn't the 4 cylinder Accord the one that sells more though? Or are those stats not separated?

I will second this. My Miata goes sideways very easily on the Autocross course. Also works well at drifting in snow.

If only they picked Horse with No Name, then I would have immediately been transported into grand theft auto San Andreas. Still felt just like it though.

I didn't even know they made it in manual in the US. I could definitely imagine it being fun with the right tires. It could easily be used in the same function something like a Subaru Outback would be. Softroading and overlanding come to mind with that. And if its 01-04, that is before they got bloated anyways.

You have a manual, in a CRV that immediately makes you a gearhead (no pun intended). That is definitely one of those cars where the automatic-to-manual take rate in the US is probably well over 10,000:1. Sure it isn’t something I would want but that is the beauty of car enthusiasm, everyone likes something slightly

Ahh Arabian Drifting (number 7). There is a better solution that Louis Mattar came up with. I saw this at the San Diego Auto Museum in March:

This thing only has 16inch wheels? That seems kinda small for a truck. My Miata has 16 inch wheels.

Well yeah I do not want to live in the South haha. I already think its too humid in NJ. I do not know why/how y'all survive down there. I want to live in Cali, and I never want the drought to end. Dry heat is my jam.

Well if the humidity is literally 100%, then it is currently raining.

I see value in having all of them. I figure since I don’t pay for cable but could afford it, I just allot that money towards entertainment in general. So there is value in having Amazon and Netfllix. I agree that Spotify is a better, more robust service, but I generally use all of my music locally or just go find it
