Just as an addendum - some of this info is not up-to-date. As of today, Tuesday March 15, the Fukushima situation has been upgraded to a level 6 nuclear disaster - "Serious Accident", just one step below Chernobyl.

@OMGWTF_BBQ: I just wanted to commiserate. The new layout is absolutely unusable on a mobile (I'm rockin an Evo). And when I try to browse the ca.giz site, many links take me to the mobile m.giz site (even using Dolphin with my user-agent set to desktop mode). Which isn't too terrible, since it's actually a lot easier…
@The5thElephant: Even pre-Honeycomb Android has this function. If you hold down the Home button it will pop up a menu of your recently run apps (or those that are still running in a separate thread.) It looks similar to holding down Alt+Tab on Windows. My Evo shows me my last 8 apps, letting me toggle between various…
@ThreeWireGuy: Probably not. No Android devices can play Hulu. It is explicitly blocked by Hulu. The Skyfire Android browser could play it for awhile by providing the request headers of a desktop browser, thereby tricking the Hulu servers into thinking it was a normal PC, but I'm pretty sure Hulu squashed that a long…
@Red Rocket: Ha ha ha, actually that is genius!
@verditsgerman: If I remember correctly, the reason for no USB charging was that, since USB is only 5V 500mA, it would take too long to charge the battery. I'm not sure if that's totally true, especially since it sounds like a subjective 'user experience' issue, but it still sounds plausible enough.
Hey, it's ok for him to think it's overrated, because he has obviously watched it multiple times and spent a good deal of effort analyzing the sci elements of the fi. I think he makes some good points.
Why the re-post? Didn't you guys showcase this device (via this exact same article) like a week ago?
@SkipErnst: Well, even when I was in high school (about 10 years ago), skipping school had very real legal repercussions. And even if you didn't actually get caught skipping, enough unexcused absences would land you a ticket, court appearance, fine, community service, etc... Not to mention that you couldn't graduate…
@0101: Well, some kids might be like that, but certainly not all. I am pretty sure that the kinds of kids selected for this program are those who have already exhibited truant and anti-authoritarian behavior. And believe me, by 7th & 8th grade, many kids already believe it's the pinnacle of coolness to skip class,…
@Dr. What?: The G1 was released in October 2008. So people who bought it would just now barely be getting out of contract.
@4n7h0ny: Oh damn the 3D ads would be the worst part. Imagine how annoying some flash ads are today, but add the extra 'dimension' of them popping out at you and overlaying on top of the actual content you're trying to see (even more than they already do). It would be a battle of whose 3D images pop out the most.
So is this a new type of CPU, like the Snapdragon or Hummingbird, or is this a separate chip / processor that facilitates the playback? I'm a little confused. This isn't like a GPU is it?
I've been waiting for HTC to produce a tablet, because HTC is far and wide my favorite mobile manufacturer. But this... Well, I'm disappointed.

I have to agree with this article, but I would personally take it a step further. I would opt out of a 100% cloud device, 100% of the time. Data transmission is not free. Why would I want to use up my precious bandwidth on trivial tasks that could be done easily using data stored on the phone?
When I worked at Sharper Image years ago, we sold an RC Hummer that could drive up walls. Sounds like a great gimmick, until you see it in action. It had a sort of vacuum-like mechanism that sucked it against a wall to give it traction to drive up. It was slow, very loud, and generally extremely annoying.
