I made an earlier comment on longevity (mine) and mentioned FORTAN + COBOL + ALGOL = PL/I. Lisp came up. Then I saw your mention of APL (A Programming Language). Ouch. Cryptic beyond belief. And a special keyboard.

I’ve been around a while: FOTRAN + COBOL + ALGOL = PL/I so moving to C, C++ and so on was no problem. Lisp is almost as old as FORTRAN. Talk about a trying to learn a new language! You’ve suggest several but I would suggest “Martian” when trying to learn Lisp.

My house was built in 1967. Try to find a refrigerator larger than 19 cubic feet under 66 1/2 inches high these days.
