How could we forget Travis? He got to meet Jeff Gordon.

I wonder if this movie is still a high school English text in Australia.

I think you’ve nailed it. Maybe, maybe, add the CRX to the list?

Having owned two of the three and test driven the other, all three have their place in the heart. But only the MR2 would find a place in my garage.

In terms of legendary large engines that did make it into the passenger vehicles, it’s the Cummins B series(6BT, ISB, B6.7). These are engines that hit 7 digit mileage with ease in hot shot applications. Even the modern CM2350b engine can have the DPF and other emission equipment surpass 500k without issues.

I like the old way transmissions were referred to as “3 on the tree” for a 3 speed column shifter or “4 on the floor” for a 4-speed with the shifter in the center tunnel. Also, don’t forget the “5th under the seat” in the early days of oval racing and/or running shine.

This is kind of opposite, but we used to call guys at the office that would never work over time, “Packards”.  They worked a straight 8 and were done.

Murica, summed up in a single photograph. Yeehaw.

My wife has no desire to learn to drive a stick, and it’s convenient to have an automatic that we can both drive. My solution is just to have another car that is a manual. Simple enough, but not the solution for everyone.

It is definitely what engineers were supposed to learn from the wind tunnel, not the freakin’ Ford Probe.

I mean, it’s Milwaukee... I’m surprised they even let Midwesterners touch the base model stuff...

Auto shows are still a thing?

Somewhat kidding aside, I feel like automakers are doing just fine doing their own catered vehicle launches. These days, “concept” vehicles are just Photoshop renders and the only people who really miss the shows are going to be journalists missing out on free alcohol and swag.

That being

The CEO made these comments about the Chrysler brand on a conference call:

Spirit Airlines consultant: Hey, the baggage compartment on the planes is pressurized, right?
Spirit CEO: Yes, and you’ve just given me an amazing idea..

Is it bad that I actually enjoy flying terrible discount airlines? Something about paying basically nothing to fly across the country really makes me giggle.

Well written discussion always deserves elevation out of the greys.

Oh yeah, had almost forgot about that. We built the prototype at DMC/LMC (before I worked there). With all the UTVs on the market now, that was truly 40 years ahead of its time.
