I would imagine that the batteries of the truck would charge better if they were hit with 100% load and then brought down over time, as it’s my understanding that the Li-ion battery packs would like a slower charge as they get closer too 100%.

Partially, most small generators are ran off of carbs due to their cheap fixes and ease of maintenance. Plus they can be easily swapped for Natural Gas setups.

Its interesting you bring up the small engines being bad for emissions. You could take the EcoBoost and tune it specifically for each load step on the generator, since it’s a stationary application you know what demand will be based on the usage of the batteries in it’s system.

Diesel Gens are hit with almost the same restrictions as On-Highway stuff. Try explaining to a guy he needs a new DEF system because he doesn’t run his new generator under load enough...
