I apologize for my snide tone in my original reply, and appreciate your very well reasoned response. In fairness to Mazda though, I do see an awful lot of CX-5's on the road. Sure, not CRV numbers, but still it’s not at all uncommon to see 3-4 others every time I go out (and I work from home so I don’t drive far

You have obviously - and I mean OBVIOUSLY - never driven one. That’s what sets Mazda apart from the other shit. They have literally built what reputation they have on the driving dynamics of their cars. More than 5% of buyers care about that, but don’t fall into the “Enthusiast” category.

You are trying to compare an old mazda vehicle to new, and it doesn’t work. This generation of cars is completely different than the Mazda of old. First of all they have no partnership with Ford, and don’t shop out of the Ford parts bin anymore. The CX-7 and CX-5 don’t share any parts - the CX-5 was a completely

Look again - those engine issues are a thing of the past. Yes, the CX-7 turbo engine sucked, and sucked hard. But the Skyactiv engines have been very reliable. I’ve had my 2014 CX-5 GT since Feb of 2013, and it has been awesome.

Isnt’ an V8 swap the best thing to do for all those IMS bearing failed 996's? Probably less weight and more power.

Your name is really what sells that comment.

Come on, just offer it up on MGBoard (I assume this is a thing).

This is absolutely the right answer.

This is strange that they did, since it would have been below the inheritance tax maximum, and any tax due would have been based only off of the adjusted basis from when the owner died. So if they got someone to say that it was worth 2 mil when she died, and they sold it later for 2 mil, taxes due should have been

Why on earth is this shared on Jalopnik?

The video is blocked. Fuck you Bernie.

I would say that there is justice in this world if he hasn’t earned any money off of this video.

You don’t just walk into a grocery/convenience/drug store sand buy beer? WTF kind of bass ackwards state is that?

I have a 2014 CX-5 as well. This is the first I’ve heard of rear brake issues. I went and searched the Mazda247forum and found one thread about premature wear, but it looks like it mostly has happened to people in winter climates with road salt.

So I fully expected that it would be Ben Collins based on the teaser that had been released previous to the debut of TGT. Disappointed that it isn’t.

And with the apparent abysmal reliability as evidenced in the Pacifica forums, I think I’m happy that we went with the Odyssey.

Along with the CRV, the RAV4, the Tucson, the Escape, and the Sportage - they are all of similar size. If you are comparing to an SUV like the CX-9, the Highlander, Pilot, Flex, etc. those are all closer to minivan size, and have more room, but the van still trumps them on overall cargo space and ease of entry/ rear

I own a CX-5 and an Odyssey - trust me when I say that the CX-5 has nowhere near the cargo capacity of a minivan. Also the back seat on the CX-5 is rather cramped if you have even a single car seat installed. However on the Odyssey you can install two full size convertible carseats next to each other, and still have

I’ve never noticed any wind noise issue in mine. I have a ‘14 GT (manufactured in December of ‘12).
