Oh come on the choice is obvious: Bentley

The real surprise in that list is Mini. I’ve always heard that they are terribly unreliable and cost a fortune to fix from various people.

Went looking on Craiglist for a CRX after reading this. Found one promising one for $900 - failed emissions but looks in decent shape, but does have a salvage title:

The “Just purchase cars on credit cards” is how I knew it was BS. Ever tried to do this? You can’t.

Yeah, student loan debt is just evil.

Sure - if the boss had a substantial portion of her 401K tied up in company stock, and she knew the stock was going to tank, then borrowing money from her 401K would make sense, especially if this was sometime in the past few years then leasing a new Land Rover is a fantastic business decision because it is basically

Really wanted to vote NP. But the condition is rough. This probably is right where it should be priced, but it’s hard to vote NP when you can get a ‘91 for a grand less:

This is exactly my point. This is a $2K car, and that’s being REALLY generous as I just sold a ‘98 corolla for $1700. And that was with 109k on the clock. It may be “cool”. It may be a wagon. It may be stick. It may be rare. But it’s not a $4k car.

This is overpriced by 2 grand. Not really sure how this is winning on the NP vote. There is a hell of a lot you can get for 4 grand out there. The rarity might mean something if this didn’t look like a Civic had sex with a Forester. This is getting towards decade newer Forester money. Hell - you can have a 2004

Hey I’m out of the grey on both Jalopnik and Jezebel. Not entirely sure how I managed that, but still ;-)

Sure there are other gifs, but this is my favorite.

You know the old adage of “You don’t screw with a man’s ride”? Pretty sure that doesn’t apply to people like that.

Yo

Under $20K? Shit, I remember when there was a 1972 911T sitting on the side of the road with a FS sign, for the princely sum of SIX GRAND. I stopped and looked at it a couple times. At that point I was driving a 1979 VW rabbit that I had bought for $500 - $6K was FAR out of my reach, but I really thought about it. In

Any properly maintained engine that can’t produce as much HP, torque, or last as long as a properly maintained engine of another type isn’t “better”.

I thought every RX-8 got a free engine replacement at one point or another.

Well what I mean is that the manufacturer is on the hook to support the car - legally - for a specific period of time (parts for 25 years or something like that?). Essentially Porsche would have to cough up either the tool, or send a technician out to do the job if your dealership didn’t have the tool necessary

As long as the hard drive didn’t die, and you had a backup, you should be able to fix it. What model machine was it? Bet you can find one for scrap somewhere.

Wouldn’t Porsche be on the hook for sending you one of the testers at least as a loaner if that is what is in fact required?

Escalade disagrees with you.
