An acquaintance named their kid Alexa just before the Amazon device exploded onto the world, so in their case not only can Alexa start the car but Alexa can drive it ;)

If the padding in your bike shorts is providing actual suspension and shock absorption I have to ask if your buying your shorts from TempurPedic? I’ve been riding and racing for the better part of 20 years now and not once have I said ‘damn, these new Pearl shorts really have a chamois that provides noticeable shock Read more

I guess I can say I had ‘half’ a CBX in my ‘80 or ‘81 XS850 three cylinder. I swapped out the pipes for a 3-2-1 and cafe’d it with flat bars and a straight seat. That was a fun bike and was my real entry into motorcycles. While it sounded good, that CBX... oof, that’s a screamer!

I think in your context you could easily substitute Nissan and still be correct. At least in recent history.

The swooshes are the tribal tattoos of the RV world. It was cool once (maybe) and everyone rushed to copy it.

“but a 2103 update brought the total output up to 130 HP and 140 foot-pounds of torque.” Was the CR-Z sent back from the future by Skynet? Somehow I don’t think that it would be able to stop a T-2000 ;)

I saw what will likely be the most unicorn car for me forever. Street parked, B5 VW Passat 4Motion W8 Wagon with a 5 speed, in Des Moines, Ia. According to R&T it’s on of the 97 ever sold in the US.

All I have to say is that if your going to take one of these things on your local dirt trails you also better sign up to help maintain them. As someone that has been pedaling bicycles for far too long (and over 40mph even!) and an avid MTB rider/racer I only ask that eMTB’ers help when the call goes out to fix up a Read more

Drove my ‘70something Jeep Grand Wagoneer from Laramie to Des Moines without the rod that connected the pedal to the actual clutch. So it was all rev matching and starting in gear. You’ll be fiiiiiine. Also I’ll be following and maybe go wave as you pass by in Iowa. Good luck!

Big time NOPE. This was my dream car, had a 2003 w/ the 1.8T, leather, it was great. Then I learned about the ‘service position’ and it went downhill. Mandatory 5K, full synthetic only oil changes to mitigate the known and problematic oil sludge issue.

As long as they are considered motorcycles and not bicycles then yes. Powered bicycles, especially on dirt trails not intended for them, do more harm than good. I maintain MTB dirt trails in my city and we are constantly fighting these things. I’m sure they are amazing and, as an almost 30 year motorcycle rider, I’m Read more

The problem with no print magazines is one of what do the youths subsequently cut out and tape to their walls? There is no way I could afford a wall of iPads with various Porsche ads glowing from them like I did with the paper versions. Read more

Why are the hard buttons on the dash labeled in English yet the digital display is using (presumably) Japanese kanji? Is this because it’s a press car or is English just that universal?

Now if only Microsoft would change the password complexity requirements in AD so that it would reflect modern standards. Bonus if they would also add a ‘blacklist’ of words that aren’t allowed in passwords per site, like the company name for example. Read more
