That's completely true, but when I said they were "good live". I meant it in the purest, most literal way: I enjoyed watching them perform. They sounded good. They had good energy. It was fun. I think that's a totally different question from whether they used backing tracks or other kind of technological assistance to…
I'm going to just say the following things to balance out the vibe on this thread:
I see your point and that's probably an element sometimes, especially for the more thoughtful performers. But sometimes the jokes don't even feel 'real' or original, like they might if they were based on actual relationships - they're just more of the same 'my wife is a nagging harpy' or 'married women don't give…
It also just seems played out - more of the same "take my wife, please" bullshit instead of any effort to dig into realities of real life, modern relationships.
I wonder about this so often. Comedians like Kevin Hart and Louis CK and now Chris Rock perform these absolutely vicious routines about how horrible their wives are and how much they hate being married....and then they get divorced. Makes it seem like maybe it's more honest than not?
1. I have nothing against Animals, except the echo in the chorus that is too loud and therefore makes the lyrics "just like animals, animals, like animals, MALS". All I hear is "mals."
1. omg the monkey is so cute. bieber must be a monster.
Wafer cake is a Christmas tradition in my family! It is absurdly easy and very, very delicious. The cookies soften in the whipped cream and become cake-textured, so you get all the cake-ness without the hassle of actually baking one. (And I say that as a person who enjoys baking....but let's be honest, "real" cakes…
I want desperately for there to really be a 'world championship of a cappella.' I would legit quit my grown up day job to pursue that title.
Well generally this site is pretty worshipful of Solange and pretty brutal when it comes to Kim K. I figured that saying something negative about the former and something (sort of) positive about the latter would elicit some....polite disagreement?

Eh, it's really not that bad in my opinion. First of all, the loss of her voice is portrayed as an unambiguously bad thing, and actually turns out to be detrimental to her landing her man (because she can't tell him who she really is!)
OMG HE'S SO GOOD. And good for him for working so hard at it.
First of all, it is standard in men's apparel for like items in Big & Tall to cost more than in standard sizes - I just double checked on macys.com and a Ralph Lauren polo shirt is $85 in standard sizes and $98 in Big & Tall. Also, the men's denim size range that is linked to in that block quote is a standard size…
Wow, commenters. No body snarking on Jezebel....unless it's Kim K? Why is everyone SO SURE about plastic surgery and SO SURE that her dimensions are impossible to achieve naturally? Because honestly there are a handful of women at my gym who are shaped a lot like this.
Sorry, but the 'just mayo' stuff is NOT MAYONNAISE and should not be labeled as such. It is by definition an emulsion of oil, EGG YOLKS, and vinegar, and therefore cannot be a vegan product.
I don't personally think that Nikki or term set out to evoke Nazism, although it does sound like this director guy is an asshole who likes to piss people off and maybe he took advantage of the ignorance/obliviousness of his clients.
I saw Ginuwine live when he opened for N Sync (not sure how that pairing came to be, but whatevs I will take it). He was wearing a red leather baggy pants/vest ensemble with no shirt, sang all his classics, and was amazing. That said, it was a wildly inappropriate performance for all the 8-12 year olds in the…
