Disagree. No matter how good or talented you are at something, an experienced teacher is fundamental for improvement and success. A mentor doesn’t need to be “better” that the student  to be able to guide, as any sport star/great scientist can testify.

As long a both parties are willingly into the relationship there is no point in second guessing anything. It is when one of the parties forces the other that wrongdoing happens.
