So much this. I’m an older white woman who lives in an area in Texas that is purple. Amongst my friends/acquaintances, the conservatives are evangelicals and the liberals/progressives are Catholics or members of more accepting mainline Protestant denominations (or atheists like me).

I don’t know any Baby Boomer women who clutched pearls at women wearing pussy hats. I am one of the Baby Boomer women who wore a hat last year, and will again this year on Jan. 20th. All of my baby boomer women were in complete solidarity with all the millions of women who marched last year. Of course, I don’t live in

In all honesty as a person who does some social media management professionally (not my main gig, but I do run two corporate consumer-facing accounts) it will not hurt them. This kind of irreverence and snark is what most people are attracted to now. Earnestness doesn’t get likes and retweets, sass does, every time.

First twitter reply from that post:

They’re young. They don’t know we had to fight for the right to wear pants to school, nevermind healthcare, equal pay, the ability to have a credit card in one’s own name, take out a loan in one’s own name. The young women of today are ignorant of the battles fought by the young women of yesterday.

They’ll get some of it but the media has had it out for the Clinton’s since the 90s. They blow everything around her out of proportion.

The candidate held liable for 20+ year old indiscretions by her husband.

I remembered that forum with Matt Lauer and screaming at the TV because he was constantly hounding Clinton with questions about her emails and interrupting her....and meanwhile didn’t bat an eye when Trump said crazy shit like how we should be able to take oil from Iraq as spoils of war. Glad to see him go down in

Finally - someone is talking about it! The entire campaign all I heard about was Clinton’s “likeability” problem. No one who said that was doing any introspection. And anytime someone mentioned sexism, they’d overreact and completely derail the discussion. Kinda makes me think they were so hysterical over it because

Those are the types of hairs you split when you sell your soul and vote for people like Hillary

Medical pot DOESN’T CURE SHIT, you nimrods! It’s used to quell nausea and anxiety!

Generally, I hate a lot of different kinds of people. But these anti-vax/anti-med shit heads are some of the fucking worst. Like if you put this woman and Richard Spencer next to each other I’d have a hard time deciding who to punch first.

When people say “We survived Reagan, you’ll survive Trump” I like to remind them of the Reagan-led genocide of (primarily) gay men. So no...fuck you. We did not all survive Reagan. My generation (and some of the Boomers) lost the best and brightest of us all and we’ve never recovered from that loss.

Fuck this woman. Fuck fuck fuck this woman.

Index funds are one of the safest ways to invest money too.

We disagree about that, but okay. There’s plenty of greed in investing, but there’s nothing particularly greedy about having a basic IRA or other retirement account so that you can save enough money to not die in poverty. There are also plenty of other values-based investment opportunities that have too low of a

Is this actually a story about greed though? Lists like this are meant to be an aid for people who want to restrict their investing to companies that share their values. This story is only about greed if you think all stories about investing are about greed.

The index will track 18 criteria—including bullying policies, the ability to maintain a work-life balance, and promotion opportunities—to determine how good companies are at creating an environment where women aren’t being harassed (or at least aren’t reporting it!)

I disagree about the reasons people watch these things. People think pimple popping or hoarders or intervention is about gawking at weirdos for entertainment but it’s not. These people are all filmed being treated for their ailments and actually getting better and cured. We watch because we love to see humans overcome

A few years ago, I had a rare(ish) cyst that abscessed and had to have lanced and then the sac removed. My doctor was fascinated because she’d never seen one last as long as mine did, only to suddenly become infected. She asked if she could take some photos for a paper she was writing and I said sure. It was a
