You are a national treasure, and now I must search for the material that explains why Lisa has blocked you on Twitter.

A vague sweeping proclamation that class warfare is to blame dangerously obfuscates discovery and repair of specific potential stressors necessary to prevent such crimes.
What the fuck is wrong with you?
And I would have maybe a little empathy if she was truly poor and therefore unable to access mental health care (with that, a hopeful realization or doc intervention to remove herself from child care). But this makes my blood boil, “...because she had negative impressions of mental health treatment.” No. Fuck that. I…
This reminds me of an ongoing debate I have with some female friends: some of them believe we should remove any men from our friends’ lists if we discover they’re guilty of sketchiness/a range of bad behavior against women, because if a contact is perusing a dating app that uses the Facebook API and notices I’m a…
Really? I’m as pro-gun control as they come but I’ve also engaged in target practice. The last time I did so was prior to IG, but I did post a cute pic elsewhere taken from the back with a slightly obscured pistol as I aimed at a milk jug.
I agree with you except the number of fish photos to potential partners who actually incorporate fishing into their lives is disproportionately high. In a place like NYC it reads more like a desperate attempt to incorporate nature into an inevitably urban existence.
You know how on Catfish or Dateline the worst offenders haunt the platforms that attempt to brand themselves as wholesome or safe (Plenty of Fish, Match, etc)? I have nothing against Bumble, but the format doesn’t appeal to me (I trust my gut enough to filter out potential disasters and enjoy the diversity on apps…
I can understand your sentiments, and most of us who were invested in I, Tonya were most likely old enough and/or in proximity of the events at that time. I just mentioned in another comment, as someone who closely followed the case, my real surprise was the performance of Paul Walter Hauser as Shawn Eckhardt. If this…
I was 21-22 when the scandal took place, and lived in Portland at that time. My roommates and I were fascinated with the case, but especially fixated on Shawn Eckhardt: this was well before Pinterest, so our refrigerator was festooned with a collage of newspaper and magazine cutouts of his big head and perma-sneer.
TSoW and Get Out were both fun. And as mentioned, Dunkirk was very well crafted regardless of your sentiments. Lady Bird succeeded in that I normally can’t handle “twee” but when the movie ended I realized I could watch another hour and not be annoyed. But how did you omit the excellent attributes of I, Tonya?
No “tears” here but I’m genuinely interested why you have a Nolan chip on your shoulder? Dunkirk’s sound editing/mixing, picture cinematography and editing were incredible.
I loved Dunkirk, and knew it was going to clean up in all sound categories (especially memorable are the scenes in which you can hear the bombed damp clumps of falling beach sand pan to each side of you). It didn’t completely follow the “awwww” formula that Best Pictures tend to have though.
I had only read about the show prior to now, and agree that it doesn’t look good on paper. But I just saw the trailer and also think there might be other levels of interpretation. I get a bit of The Craft and Popular (and the original Heathers!) in the look & feel. In The Craft, the outcasts were also definitely…
Since she’s from Atlanta, I wonder if the show’s producers sent a PA to the 23rd St Girl Scouts Cookie Cupboard to have plenty of cookies on hand.
Little Brownie Bakers (Louisville) or nothing!!
Seriously. “How can you tell if someone is using a menstrual cup...?” Like, great if they work for you but please stop hijacking every thread remotely related to periods.
In high school I offered an OB to a coworker in need, and she said “I can’t use that because I can’t stick my finger up there.”
OBs were introduced when I was still in my young teens, and they were immediately appealing to me because of the awkwardness of applicators. I still use them today (not interested in cups).
I’m in NYC and have had the same thoughts! I haven’t X-country skied since my early teens but remember really enjoying it. I’m just so lazy about planning such excursions upstate and researching trails, equipment rental, etc.
