And they vote!

One more thing: how do any of us begin addressing polarization and how the GOP continues to move the goalposts? Assuming again their constituents lack empathy and/or any desire for government involvement, how do you change those minds? Or do we just split into two countries?

I don’t see it as staying “in power,” but more of an assurance that we have at least a few people on our (general) team who are privy to the dirty tricks of a side that largely possesses no empathy. You can’t rely on the probability they will come to our side unless they personally endure tragic circumstances that

I’m a tech office freelancer because I can work long hours in a project-based capacity, then completely separate myself with a month off. If a union exists for me, sign me up (don’t say “Freelancers Union”). But people like me don’t have the numbers to organize, not to mention it’s unrealistic to apply a traditional

I’m neither a centrist nor an advocate of laissez-faire policies, but I’m also not in the Bernie camp. I know that many Bernie fans are eager to lump non-Berners into the same category, so I’m not sure if you’re one of them.

Not sure about the person you’re asking, but as a woman concerned about women’s issues who has been voting since the early ‘90s I guarantee you the majority of my choices have been “pragmatic.”

I assume you also deny the existence of PTSD as applied to military servicepeople?

HOLY FUCK is someone FINALLY styling ‘80s hair correctly on set?? They usually go to 85% then chicken out the rest of the way. Or maybe stylists are too young to have firsthand experience?

How would the implementation and timeline work for such a proposal? Would the Democrats voluntarily refuse big money while Republicans continued to accept corporate donations? Would it be legislated? If so, how does this happen other than a supermajority?

If your solution is to fund elections with tax dollars only, just how do you propose getting the Republican Party on board?

When constituents expect their elected officials to immediately propel every one of their own personal concerns ahead of others,’ as well as be personable and friendly while they do so, that doesn’t leave much time for entertainment publications.

If you were suddenly grated project manager authority of the Democratic Party, what would you do?

I would assume they have other tasks ahead of keeping track of Hollywood stories.

Absolutely. It’s hard to tell if the problem is the chicken or egg; are these types more successful at obtaining wealth and power, or does it happen after the fact?

And on the brighter side, I know people who once had questionable behavior at times but then started listening to women’s stories. After being previously unaware they were inappropriate, they took it upon themselves to change.

It’s similar to how evangelicals (and others) believe men were meant to be head of household but also weak under the influence of evil women...GTFO with that shit and grow up.

But I guarantee you personally know someone guilty of the same crimes (even if you’re not aware of it yet). It’s not just a plague within the rich and powerful classes.

I wonder if the assumption that prominent Democrats knew of his actions is somehow easier to digest because they are seen as a monolith. In reality, all of us at different power and class levels know someone guilty of the same crimes, even if we’re currently unaware of it.

I always vote in midterms and all I get are these lousy thinkpieces.

I’m guessing the CEO is the religious and profoundly libertarian type of hippie.
